Damage Markers

Hi all, been considering how to show damage during a game.

The current idea is pipe cleaners for 'smoke/fire' etc (yes I know there's no fire in space unless it happens to be a snip on fire..) :)
But it could also be plasma venting / etc

It looks okay, and it's immediately obvious which ships have criticals to resolve.

Just wondering if anyone else is using some other visual method?..

I had some Litko markers made that show crippled ( fluorescent red cross ) and a flourescent red shield marker for shields down.

The fire he's made looks great.

I might have a go at making some of that... but how to fix it to the ships as needed during a game? and without damaging the paintwork..

Any ideas?

I find that just using a bit of cotton ball stretched out to make a streamer maybe 2" long works fine. I put it on crippled ships to help keep them straight in my mind, and it looks decent as well.

So do you put it on top of the model, or on the base?

I'm using mine for crippled and criticals so we can see at a glance what the status of a ship is..
