Cutter and Stitcher

Which TotRM was this in? The Upland March special? I'm not a huge fan of the Tales take on Glorantha in general, but they did have their moments.
Yes, issue 19.. some of the stuff was a bit over the top though... but each to their own.
The snip-it on hard Earth and the logic behind how the emarsh was formed is quite cool... as is the piece on the Anas Duck Clan.

(I prefer Tradetalk, and these days also Unspoken Word, but to each his/her own)
Yep, all good stuff, Anything as along as its Glorantha... Sad fan-boy that I am. Zin Letter wasn't too bad either or Codex while it lasted...

So, did MongooseFordy take "Cutter & Stitcher" for his signature without knowing it was a Glorantha reference, or just not know the details?

And wasn't the major crime of the God Learners that they plundered the realm of the gods without the required sensitivity?

No. Someone repeatedly called his editing that. In the sense that Cutter and Sticther created various Frankenstein Monster abominations. The rest of the posts were equally condesending or snide.

Just FYI

Just wonderig where the Remakers get their bits... Prisoners of war, locals, criminals...
Thought it might make an interesting spring board for a campaign, escaping from the Remakers labs and getting the players together... in an ialand of Dr Morou-ish way.

The 'tales' article does make the point that C&S where both two of the remaker, so from that perspective they become undead horror or demigod entities int he Third Age.

It's more a badge of honour.

P.S. I find their use in referring to the editing as highly offensive.

I as well. Fordy has a tough job, and hearing ill thoughts about it here is not very kind.

I don't think the term "Cutter & Stitcher" is meant to be offensive.

Perhaps it implies a certain over-zealousness or perhaps a certain ham-fistedness, which may or may not be unfair, but that merely reflects the perception amongst some people that some of the supplements might have had some parts made more difficult to understand through editing. (Being very careful how I phrase things)

But, when we are told that a confusing section of a supplement or a section that is missing a spell description or whatever appeared correctly in the document sent to Mongoose and then was changed or taken out, then we can probably assume this was done by the editors.

Where such editing has confused things or has taken out descriptions of spells/skills etc to the detriment of the supplement, then we can safely assume that this was poor editing.

Of course, describing something as poor is purely subjective. It's when everyone agrees that it becomes objective.

We all know how difficult writing and editing are, but that's no reason to accept poor writing/editing/proofreading without complaint.

Still wondering if any ones got any snipits of info on the Remakers and Voss Varainu, other the info that appears in Tales 19 or King of Sartar.
