So, did MongooseFordy take "Cutter & Stitcher" for his signature without knowing it was a Glorantha reference, or just not know the details?
No. Someone repeatedly called his editing that. In the sense that Cutter and Sticther created various Frankenstein Monster abominations. The rest of the posts were equally condesending or snide.
It's more a badge of honour.

P.S. I find their use in referring to the editing as highly offensive.
I as well. Fordy has a tough job, and hearing ill thoughts about it here is not very kind.
I don't think the term "Cutter & Stitcher" is meant to be offensive.
Perhaps it implies a certain over-zealousness or perhaps a certain ham-fistedness, which may or may not be unfair, but that merely reflects the
perception amongst
some people that some of the supplements might have had some parts made more difficult to understand through editing. (Being very careful how I phrase things)
But, when we are told that a confusing section of a supplement or a section that is missing a spell description or whatever appeared correctly in the document sent to Mongoose and then was changed or taken out, then we can probably assume this was done by the editors.
Where such editing has confused things or has taken out descriptions of spells/skills etc to the detriment of the supplement, then we can safely assume that this was poor editing.
Of course, describing something as poor is purely subjective. It's when everyone agrees that it becomes objective.
We all know how difficult writing and editing are, but that's no reason to accept poor writing/editing/proofreading without complaint.
