Custom Ships

Gal Civ II. Dread Lords, the 2003 sequel.
So Stardock released Gal Civ 4 in April 2022. Might have to take a peak when/if it gets on Steam.

This ship is a bittersweet one for our group. It began as a way to keep our friend's character semi-active, but turned into a commemoration of our friend's passing.

Another port from a game I play when I need a solo Traveller fix. This time it's the Orca, statted for 2000 tons.

Manufactured by Saud Kruger, the Orca is their middle tier luxury liner. It has similar amenities to the Baluga, but services routes that have a lower demand for service. It has staterooms for 25 high passengers, 70 middle passengers and 10 low passengers. It has three small craft for excursions and refueling operations. The biosphere ties into both the common areas of the observation lounge and the gambling/gaming area. Internal storage is in the form of secure safety deposit boxes, lockers and closets for the paying customers. Amenities include hot tubs, a swimming pool, several wet bars and gourmet dining for the high passengers.

For anyone looking for older deck plans and record sheets in this thread, I have attached the files directly to the posts, instead of linking from Discord, as I had been doing for several years. They should remain visible and accessible now.

Didn't realize I'd let this go this long.
New ship. A low-tech 300 ton Fat Trader. Older than dirt and just as annoying.
The example below is named "Lihava Paskiainen" after the pet name the owner's grandmother always used for grandpa. The grandkids never did bother to learn Finnish. When it passed hands most recently, it was 250 years old and had numerous issues. The installed sensors were so mangled that basic sensors were better. Everything has been patched together (badly) so many times that any repairs are at a -1. The cargo bay had a strange odor that tended to permeate any cargo placed in it. Fortunately that got repaired. It did have a good story for the crumpled area next to the forward airlock though. It responded to a call for help and rammed a pirate ship that was trying to board the yacht of the local planet's noble. While the noble was very grateful for the assistance, it seems he was not grateful enough to repair the damage.

Nice.

I didn’t know about this thread.

The Andromeda Class was conceived as a moderately advanced platform for eliminating the threat of piracy along mains or in clusters. It's high manuever and low jump range is suited to this local enforcement role. The mix of weaponry was meant to allow the captain a choice between capturing pirates alive or eliminating the threat with prejudice. It comes with a 25 ton Perseus Class Assault Launch which docks between the aft engineering sections. This launch also has a boarding tube giving a boarding force the option of making entry at two separate points on a pirate hull.
