Curse of Tantalus - campaign setting

I was showing off your resturant to some of my players and one noted that Chef Jul had Skill Specialiaztion in Profession Chef (?) but didn't have any skill points in it.

Might want to change that.

Sidney

Thanks for spotting this Sidney, anything else please let me know. For Chef Jul Lucano, I have switched out two points of Bluff and put those into his Profession skill, and made the changes to the PDF, which I will try and upload over the weekend. I figured that, given his separation from the core of Centauri society, he could get by with a lower Bluff score.

As far as the black and white thing, I'll have a look and see if I can switch that out for a different colour. Given the fact that I've put some Centauri related pieces into the Tantalus PDF's, I might change the black for a nice Centauri Purple if the consensus is that it would look better :)

And thanks for the nice comments everyone. I did plan out a 'rough' timeline for the Outpost, from 2259 - 2262, so if anyone wants to know what this is, I might stick this in a PDF marked 'GM only'.

Aargh, damned cookies...

If I can get the timeline PDF finished this weekend, I'll upload that too. Of course, it's not prescriptive, hence why I haven't written anything Tantalus-esque that is set post 2258-early 2259. The timeline might help those GM's that are only dropping into the Tantalus setting occasionally.

Thanks for Tantalus, it is a great setting

I thought I should mention 1 small thing though, you have the 200 man marine contingent commanded by a corporal with a command master sergeant and 6 master sergearnts under him. a Corporal actually is an enlisted rank below a segeant.

A contingent of that size (an oversized company or 2 undersized companies) would be commanded by an officer, I think Heinz Gorman should probably be a Captain or maybe even Major

Using AOG's Gropos Earthforce supplement as a guide, I think the Marine contingent would be something like

Company HQ

3 Platoons each of around 30 Marines

it is likely that there are two companies of marines stationed on Tantalus.

the Earthfore Supplement may help (I don't have mine yet)

I redownloaded the files a few days ago, and I noticed that for some reason random letters in the subheadings have vanished.

I've updated by copy of Acrobat, but the problem still remains. Any idea what to do about that?

Thanx

Hmmm, I just tried to access the web page using Chobbly's sig link, but it would not load.
Is the server down or have you changed the URL ?

TIA, Chris.

Yep, I mentioned in another thread, IIRC, that the host might be changin was changing.

The link in my sig below is now the correct one - I think correct - all manner of technical issues  Here is another copy of the link though... The Curse of Tantalus

Big Pete, good points. I don't have much in the way of AOG stuff - I had to pick my hobby at the time between the B5CCG and the AOG stuff, and as space was at a bit of a premium, I went for the CCG. Needless to say, I'm more than a bit looking forward to Mongoose's ship combat system... :D

I'll have a think about your point though - Major might be best, but I kinda like the idea of a Corporal temporarily placed in command, because no one else wants it. That said, your suggestion sounds fair too.

Chris

Your work is really good stuff

I am thinking of using it for my first B5 campaign, I was planning on something similar, but nowhere near as detailed.

I have all of the AOG B5 wars and Gropos books, they help alot with flavour. I also have all the PDFs from B5 Wars.
