What are they good for? They are reported as giving a bonus to magic attack rolls for the visions spell, but the visions spell does not seem to require MAR. So what? This is clearly an errata, but which is the answer? Are they described differently in the new edition?

WOW, I am astounded! No one knows what these items are for?! An official answer as to what one is supposed to do with the items?

I don't have my books handy at the moment but I seem to recall them being required to even cast certain Divination spells. As in, you can "view" without having a "screen" to look at.

There is no magic attack roll for the spell, but there is a skill check knowledge - arcana, so you could apply the bonus to the skill check.
