Cost of a keg of boom powder

Does anyone know the cost of a Keg of Boom Powder? I've been looking everywhere for it and, maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places, but it didn't appear to be in any of the cost-for-things lists.

The reason you cannot find a price for it is its rarity and very controlled manufacture (as noted in the class description). It is made for military use by a _very_ few trading partners and virtually never for 'sale'.

Dwarven Gunners of Bor make their own, something that just takes time and supplies (both of which are a matter of GM determination).

Absolutely glad to help.

As a GM, I would say that if a price was absolutely _needed_, 500 gold crowns a keg would be a good starting price and could easily go up due to location, circumstance and seller.

Take care,

Further to what August said, the rarity of Boom Powder could very easily make it an objective of a quest. 500 Gold Crowns is definitely the absolute minimum that I'd put on the cost of it as a GM.

Just found a listing for Boom Powder Kegs on p 140 of Heroes of Magnamund at 12 GC/keg. I guess this must be the dwarf-to-dwarf pricing, eh?

That's certainly a price one can use and within Bor, that is exactly the correct price. All equipment list items are assumed to be a local market price in a region where the item is plentiful, after all.

Thank you for your diligent and timely aid.

Also you could use that it as the Cost to Make.

Certainly an option, yes, and one I'd be down with as a GM. The section _is_ the equipment purchasing section, though, so the number is valid. It's just valid in a 'home market with no extenuating circumstances' way. :)

Personal view when you make it by the Keg it cost's you 12GC/Keg, when you get to the barrel (say 10-20 kegs worth) the cost drops to about 10GC/Keg and 6-8GC/Keg when you make it by the Ton.

unless your part of a party of Bor you wouldn't be making more than 2-3 Kegs at a time unless it's for a specific job then I doubt any more than a barrel at a time, any more than that and it's a business and that's NPC territory.
