Converting Scenarios

Has any announcement been made about whether there are plans to convert exisiting SFB or FC scenarios to ACTA? There are a ton of scenarios available in the games themselves and the various ADB publications and it would seem common sense to put together a book or pdf of converted scenarios. What do you lot think?

I've gone through a good hundred of the scenarios. With the units in the basic book there are only about 10 that can be converted over, and some of them are only slightly different twists on generic scenarios. Directly converting over things like Sabotage which is just Duel with one ship starting with a dilithium chamber critical is a bit of a waste of time.

Scenarios for ACTA should feature squadrons or fleets, rather than single ships if possible.

A lot of scenarios also specifically feature fighters or PFs or Tholian web, which aren't in the game yet.

I have however sent a little pile of scenarios to Matt.

If people want my scenario blank I'll put it up. However you've got to do your own little map (I've been doing them in Adobe Illustrator as my efforts in paint were hideous).

That's a good point about the available units. The scenario blank would be useful, though. A friend of mine wants me to run Refiner's Fire so I may as well write it up nicely while i'm am it.

I doubt MGp will be against it - ADB seem to be much more protective of their stuff so they may say no.

I agree scenarios would be fun - esepecially historical ones - it should be easy enough to convert different variants over by just noting any changes in a line or two as again I think ADb would get nervous about proper ships sheets stats whereas - you need to chnage the * on the ship you already have stats for may be less of an issue............

It's just a simple word document. If there are no scenario rules etc, put none.

If you convert over an existing ADB scenario, could you post the scenario number in this thread and send a copy to Matt.

SH2 - The Surprise Reversed (and made it into a starter scenario for players who have squadron boxes)

SG40 - The Weakest Link

Matt is after good scenarios. I've sent him 8 and promised him more, but I've been too sick to get much done (apart from have a small pile of ideas for new scenarios).

Don't use fighters or escorts in your scenarios, it's completely unofficial.

If you can just use fleets with either a points limit or players choose Intensity Level.

If you're making something new up go for something interesting that isn't a slight variation of the scenarios in the basic book.
