It looks like various components of Avenger Enterprises will be attending this coming year (2010).

You have been warned.

Didnt they learn from last year ?, there goes the Edinburgh house prices.............

Oh good, I might actually be able to afford to live here now

That's great news, I'm hoping that everything works out and Loren Wiseman makes it across this year too 8)

Which reminds me, I need to email GEAS and check they have sent out an official invite

Oh indeed

well, I just emailed GEAS (hopefully things will be moving in the right direction) and I caught up with Richard Talbot yesterday (that was productive, Rich knows how to shake the tree 8) )

What date is it on next year so I can plan in advance ?, and I hope this time unlike 2007 its not snowing ! - 12 hours on a coach each way in dreadful weather is errr interesting.

Conpulsion 2010 is 27th to 28th March 2010

Website here: http://www.geas.org.uk/conpulsion/

Would an Easyjet flight from Luton/Stansted be easier though of course never cheaper than the coach?

Unlikely my carcass won't be there this year as Conpulsion clashes with 2 other cons.

Richard,

Thanks I will be flying up for this one and the prices are about the same.

What is dreadful weather?

Being from Canada snowing itself is not dreadful unless there is high winds and freezing temperature. I mean like -25C or more. If I can convince the wife maybe we will fly out for a visit.

Never mind, who am I kidding. She will want to go on a cruise or something.

12 hours on a coach each way with at times blizzards conditions wasnt a good experience.

I left Cambridge with glorious sunny weather and when I returned 2 days later there was about a foot of snow - which for Cambridge is deep.
Edinburgh itself had next to nothing for snow the time I was there but bloody freezing and windy.

the trouble is the UK cannot handle snow. more than 1/2 inch of the white stuff and the country grinds to a halt!

The real problem is the UK gets significant snow very rarely, so it's not cost-effective to maintain the infrastructure to deal with it.
