I'm pleased to announce the first confirmed Guest of Honour for Concrete Cow 08½! Wood Ingham has agreed to come along as a Guest of Honour.

Wood Ingham is an RPG author working closely with White Wolf. He's contributed to all of the World of Darkness games. He was one of the authors of Promethean and he's written for all its supplements. He's written a pair of books for Vampire: the Requiem set in Imperial Rome (Requiem for Rome and Fall of the Camarilla) and Clanbook Mekhet. He's writing for all the books in the forthcoming Hunter: the Vigil line. He's also written for the Black Seal, a Cthulhu fanzine, and many other things. Wood will be chained to a table and forced to run games of supernatural unpleasantnesses all day.

We may have other Guests of Honour. More details when we have them! Keep an eye on the Concrete Cow webpage for updates. Hope to see you all in sunny Milton Keynes on 27 September!

A quick update on the preparations for
Concrete Cow 08½. Wood Ingham, our Guest of Honour, has confirmed the games he'll be running on the day. He'll be running two games, previewing the Vampire clanbooks, and the supplements for Hunter: the Vigil. Both of them tell the same story, one from the viewpoint of some vampire hunters, and one from the viewpoint of the
vampires.

Hunter: The Vigil - The Revenge of the Cainite Heresy.
Crazed fanatics come from nowhere, thrall to an ancient secret they don't even understand. They don't let the innocent get in the way of a millennia-old crusade. Can our heroes stop them before something awful happens? Or are the fanatics' targets even worse? And more importantly: *Who is Cain?*

Vampire: The Requiem - The Reflection of Alison Gregory.
A dead woman's reflection walks away and wages a vendetta against her, and the entire society of the dead stands to lose. Can the characters find it before it delivers everything they have left straight into the hands of a cult of fanatical vampire hunters?

Jan and Joe, official demo people from Cubicle 7 Entertainment, will be there demoing Cubicle 7 games. They'll definitely be doing demos of the forthcoming Doctor Who game and Starblazer Adventures. They'll also be offering demos of a selection from Victoriana, SLA Industries, and Qin: Warring States, but exactly which games will run isn't yet decided. If you have a preference, let me know at concrete-cow-owner@yahoogroups.com!

If you're planning to run a game at Concrete Cow, please send me an email at concrete-cow-owner@yahoogroups.com and I'll put the details on the Concrete Cow games page.

Finally, in a bid to spread the gaming goodness around, I've put together a Concrete Cow howto. It's just a list of hints and tips for running your own one-day gaming mini-con. It's not difficult to do, so give it a go!

See you all on 27 September!

Concrete Cow is growing. This is good, as it means more games, more gamers, and more fun for all. The problem is that space is getting a bit tight. Luckily, the Old Bath House, our usual location, has an extra room we can use. It's a rather nice, light, and airy basement room. But we can't let that stop us! Bring your cuddly toys along (I know you've got them) and we'll see how many Dragons we can get in our Dungeon.

We'll even refund the entry fee for the owner of the best Dragon.

Neil.

More updates! First, about the trader stall.

Cubicle 7 Entertainment and Leisure Games will have a combined stall at Concrete Cow. There will be all sorts of Cubicle 7 games for sale, such as Victoriana, StarBlazer, SLA Industries, and Qin. There may even be some news on the forthcoming Doctor Who game.

The Leisure Games end of the stall will have a variety of stock, but will concentrate on things such as the Indie Games, the HP Lovecraft Historical Society T-Shirts, DVDs and various paraphernalia.

If you have something in particular you'd like to buy at Concrete Cow, either contact Leisure Games directly, or PM me and I'll pass the message on.

Make sure you bring plenty of cash to give to the nice gentlemen with the shiny books!

The other update is on the Guest of Honour front. We're pleased to announce that Andy Peregrine will be joining Wood Ingham as a Guest of Honour at Concrete Cow. Andy is the Line Developer for Victoriana. He'll be chained to a table and forced to run games of Victoriana all day.

Just over a week to go, and a couple of updates for Concrete Cow.

For those of you interested in the forthcoming Doctor Who RPG, these are the demo games that will be offered by Jan and Joe, the Cubicle 7 demo people:

A Day Like No Other
Six ordinary people, one very extraordinary day.
(Yes, that's all the blurb you get!)

Six Little Greyhounds
Trap 4 is a top security UNIT facility intended for the study and examination of alien artefacts. In the ordinary course of things duty at Trap 4 is a quiet and efficient hub of science. But since the arrival of the latest batch of Artefacts, there have been a number of unfortunate..... accidents. Can the men and women of UNIT Security Detachment 3 get to the root of the problem or will the dangers of Trap 4 get them first?

Unfortunately, Shane Mclean, the official Savage Worlds demo guy, won't be able to make Concrete Cow: Real Life (TM) got in the way.

On the plus side, I'll be offering a few 10-20 minute demos of various Indie games, to supplement all the exciting things on sale with Cubicle 7. Come and grab me in the gaps between gaming sessions if you want to try something out.

The list of other pre-announced games is on the Concrete Cow games page. It's not too late to tell me about your wonderful game! Let me know and I'll put it on the list.

Look forward to seeing you all on Saturday week!

Neil.
