Concerns at clear out sale

Da Boss

Mongoose
Whilst I can understand that it is sensible to get rid of things one does not use - (I have a a house full mind you!) I would like to reiterate conerns expressed by several on the Sale Thread that the sale of all the studio / HQ stock implies:

no demos, no pics for S+P articles, no displays for shows etc...........?
This is a worry as it may impact on the future for ACTA at MGP?

Whilst it is early days and I imagine very sad days for yourselves can I ask :

Will there be a counter set and /or new book for 2008 as this will I think at least help the game continue a bit longer?

thanks

Yes we could and more than happy to do so - as the thread title suggests my concern was to the message it sends about the games future .....................

If Mongoose are selling off their display miniatures, this seems to imply a fair bit more than a hiatus - no photos for battle reports or articles for a start...

We're not - the studio fleets are going no where.

Honestly, I was sorting a few things out in the office the other day, and saw the Neroon and 15mm TBolt in a cabinet. They had been sat there for at least a couple of months (the TBolt much longer), and I started thinking about gamers out there who would actually get some value out of them.

As for doing it via eBay, well, it seemed like a bit of fun - which is why we did not use Buy It Now, and won't entertain early offers. It isn't really about the money, but giving some people the chance to get their hands on a few things that are a bit special (well, unless the G'Vrahn goes for a truly astronomical amount - it might guilt us into throwing a few extra bits and pieces in for the winner!).

If you look at what is actually on ebay it is pretty easy to work out they are only selling the spare stuff...

I think the Drakh are a previous bunch of models with a different paint job.

Yup, take a look at teh Drakh in teh online store and then the Drakh on ebay... the ones being eBay'ed are better painted but include the um... not as good Mothership and Carrier. :D

All of the evidence to me says that they are not selling the core studio models, just the "extras" and some prototypes. I'd think that they'll continue to support the game (since that was what Matt had said) and they would still want the studio models. Besides, if they were to use overhead model photos for counters, they'd need the models, right? :D

At the very worst, if I was Matt I'd be packing them home as a private collection. :P

I definiatley think there will be a complete and sizeable fleet at mongoose towers that is now officially Matt's private collection. Just because they can't afford to commercially produce the minis doesn't mean the gang won't still be playing the game on weekends.
