Conan - Upcoming Releases

Oooh! I've seen that site before. I guess I just didn't remember whose site it was and thus, never made the connection. Wicked cool. I've actually used a few of the NPCs I copied from it!

Thanks!

I have been begging to write Stygia since I was first assigned The Road of Kings, so I am VERY excited to write that.
Will you include some adventure in the Stygia / Shem sourcebooks ?

Please do make sure you include some half-forgotten ruin in the desert. What about accursed Sabatea of which Howard often wrote with a veil of mystery?

I'm also looking forward to both Shem and Stygia. My prefernce after that would actually be Hyrkania/Turan, it just seems like that would be filled with adventure oppertunities.

My intent is to do so, but if I run out of pages (like I did with Aquilonia), then I might not.

There will be ruins and Sabatea will be there.

I tried to access your site from the link, and then did a search on your name and tried to access it that way - no go...could not get in. Page could not be displayed kept coming up!

No problem.

Since this is an 'upcoming releases' thread - I have a related question: Does anyone know approximately how long it takes to get a new release up here in Canada (Alberta)? I don't have much experience in this area, since I only moved to this country recently (used to live in the States).

So far I've been able to find Scrolls of Skelos, Pirate Isles, Aquilonia, Core Book, and Road of Kings up here. But I noticed that Amazon.ca barely has any titles at all - nor does Chapters.ca -- I only managed to find these books at HEFTY prices over at a speciality comic & gaming store.

I can't keep forking out 50-60 bucks for my books though, so I prefer to go through Amazon.ca - which doesn't appear to have many of the newer releases.

I have not tried ordering from Mongoose directly. I really like Amazon and similar stores' slightly lower prices (easier on your wallet when you're buying a house). But I might have to order from them if Hyboria's Finest doesn't hit Canada as -soon- as it comes out. Not to mention Stygia, but I imagine there'll be a bit to wait for that one.

I've heard, though, that Mongoose Direct takes a bit to ship, especially overseas. I'm a very impatient man - to a fault. You should see me pacing around the house after a day and a half when I order something from Amazon on "two-day shipping."

eBay is sort of a bust. I've seen a few of the books on eBay.com - but the person was only shipping in the continental U.S. - and eBay.ca doesn't have anything except the core book, which I clearly already own.

I swear, this backwards country drives me crazy. I'm watching shows up here that are being advertised as "New" - - shows that I remember watching a year ago in Massachusetts. Sheesh!

Although there's a bonus to that backwardsness - they still have Dunkaroos here. I love those things.

Whoa! Canada is a backwards country?! Why? Because some channel shows an old show it did not run in a regular season as a summer replacement. That is a bit much. We have free healthcare, and keep the churchies away from our Charter of rights and freedoms. Canada backwards. That is really something else.

I just got back recently from a cruise that stopped in New Brunswick and then Nova Scotia. Had a great time. Beautiful country. And the people were friendly, too. Went on some nice tours that always seemed to end up in pubs- it was great 'cause it came with some complimentary samples of Moosehead beer brewed right there in St.john's and- booya- numerous ladies on the tour didnt drink so they gave me their beers. Needless to say by the time i got out of there i was nicely buzzed. However, and here i'm getting to my point, the sample glasses of cool, refreshing Moosehead beer werent actually complimentary: they were paid for by those of us who purchased the shore excursion. Similarly, you hardly have free healthcare: You pay thru the nose for it- in the form of oppressive, confiscatory and ubiquitous taxes. You may like to think its free, like the tour guides telling us we get complimentary beers at the pub, but its not. The taxes you are forced to pay every day out of every dollar you earn and spend is a high price to pay for something thats free.

And your silly jab about "keeping the churches away from your charter of rights and freedoms" is amusing. You just couldn't resist some kind of a weird jab at the US and its Christian community, could ya? Been watchin' the CBC a bit, have we? Might want to lay off it for a while...

Well, okay, two can play that game. Here's a jab back at ya:

I'm sure the girls that were on video tape being tortured, raped and murdered by Karla Homolka are big fans of Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms, now that this seriel rapist, murderer and torturer has been released after, ahem, twelve years in prison...

We know Canada has no military to speak of, now apparently their justice system has had it's nuts cut off as well...

There, we're even. The cosmic balance has been restored.

In short, Canada is a nation blessed with tremendous natural beauty. And its a country blessed with a strong, prosperous, and democratic nation to it's south with which it can trade- kind of like a modern day Aquilonia to the South except with elections every few years and Conan is only a Governor, and not it's king. So yeah, Canada's not backwards; its a nice place to visit. But I wouldn't want to live there.

I pay less taxes then you. and will never have to morgage my family's future if I ever has the misforture of illness or harm. Remember, your countries cash is being looted by Halliburton. Enron got it's share. You best believe it. I love Americans and I hate to see you getting robbed by Billionare oil barons when that money could be used for hard working Americans just tring to get by.

Sorry. I read my news.

You are right. It was a petty jab. being called backwards just got me fired up. I am sorry. I have always viewed all religion as backwards and unhelpful in the context of world history. But never want anyone to infringe on that right. I have always admired to phrase " We the people..." because yours was the first country to say no to Kings and Popes and yes to the people. Whoever they may be, or how they think or feel. The people were in charge. Radical stuff. I am just saddened to see that changing. Sorry again.

Oh that's comedy gold. Are you saying American police never screw up investigations. That all criminals get the "correct jail times. Paul Bernardo has been ruled a dangerous offender and will leave only leave jail feet first. How's O.J.'s golf game going? If you want random facts about torture killers here's one: BTK went to church every sunday.

We know Canada has no military to speak of, now apparently their justice system has had it's nuts cut off as well...

Yes. It would be swell if my gov't spend 15 times that of the second most military spending country. Maybe we could help our Justice system by ingorning the geneva convention and not sign on for the world criminal court. Maybe let corporations run jails.

In short, Canada is a nation blessed with tremendous natural beauty. And its a country blessed with a strong, prosperous, and democratic nation to it's south with which it can trade-
Unless it's beef or softwood lumber or never mind...

America. The only country with TWO guys from "Predator" being the governor. Go! Carl Weathers Go! You can make it three!

Yeah I guess I got fired up, too. I apologise as well for any offense I may have caused. And yes OJ's is on the links and not in jail where he belongs, and yes that BTK nut was active in the Church and was even a church leader apparently. Maybe they can arrange golf lessons for psychos by psychos and get BTK and OJ to finish each other off... And as for Carl Whethers, maybe he should run against Arnold- i can see it now- Appollo Creed vs. Conan...The Champion vs. the Barbarian...The Master of Disaster vs. the.. oh hell, can't think of anything else...nuff said.

So, when do we get Conan the Canadian? Can't wait to see how the Barbarian fights taxes, recieves free healthcare and kicks a moose in the jewels.

;) ;)

Man, that is a great idea. You just struck it rich Zeus! I wonder if you can get Alan Thicke for the lead. For realism.

Whoa... one little comment sparked all that?

I don't know - maybe you have to be born elsewhere to appreciate how backwards Canada can be. I'm not insulting the country, mind-you. There are just aspects of it that will forever drive me crazy. But notice that I didn't say anything about America (there's a reason I'm not there anymore).

But really, this isn't the place to get into politics and how silly each country can be on certain aspects.

However, let the record show that I never meant to insult Canada or her citzens.

Hey, since Canada gets its shows really late, think maybe we'll get Conan The Adventurer up here? That cartoon was fantasmo.

IT is very hot. So hot my brain is sizzling and I am grumpy. Please understand and forgive me. Conan only. We all love Conan You guys are the best. Melting....melting.....
