MAny of the original REH short stories are now in the public domain. The reprints and so forth are not. A good place to read the original unedited storys is at Project Gutenberg Austrailia.
I am not bright enough to post a link, but if you go to the wiki entry on REH, at the bottum they have a link. Many of the storys he wrote are there free to read on line. Note that this is a legit operation, no piracy involved.
Of course, much that was later edited and put inot books is not there as these are still under copyright. But that OK, I like the originals anyway.
