CONAN MRQ

I would take those odds. Wagner's Road of Kings is often described as one of the best Conan pastiches.

Have fun! (provided that is why you read books)

The best pastiche I ever read until now is Jordan's Conan the triumphant because it not only includes a true plot but also includes several secondary intrigues which Howards used a lot (in this case warring factions).

But I have Wagner's pastiche among the (many) books I own which I didn't read yet.

Sorry for the late reply, guys.

It is essentialy a matter of taste but I consider it as good (or bad) as Alien vs. Predator.
I am no fan of these hero mixtures unless they all come from the same author (e.g. Moorcock and his Multiverse heroes).
I remember that the issue with Elric and Conan in Conan the barbarian (Dark Horse reprint) was quite uninteressant.

Thanks for the answer, King.

Hello Strom ! I have been very busy the last few days (I won't go into details in public). I hope you're doing well. :)

[In fact, I believe Conan with Stormbringer's rules (from Chaosium because I don't know MRQ yet) would have been excellent.[/quote]

I have tried it and it works well - I find the RQ system far too complicated with all the fatigue and hit lcoations etc. I have bought Elric and Hawkmoon (for completeness) and whilst I enjoy the books the rules are not for me. May nick some ideas here and there.

I have run a cool campaign using Eden's Bufffy system (unisystem lite) as it was nicely cinemtaic and allowed lots of flexability whilst remaining fast paced. :)

This isn't surprising, especially with the demon generation system.

However I think the legendary ability's system developped by Mongoose is a further step to improvement.

I must admit the last Stormbringer campaign I ran each of the characters had a certain something to make them unqiue ( it started as a one off game with pregen characters) in that vein........ranging from a protection from drowning (the captain of the ship) from Straasha to a demon amulet that knew the right words to say to any women that the charcarter encountered. ......(well usually.........)

It all worked well :D

It was mostly 1st/2nd ed rules with things like the Alligence points system thrown in. The only other thing I had played with was giving a few options for weapons - like using "2hd and defensive" but then I play things fairly loosely so if someone comes up with a cool combat (or otherwise) move they have a chance of doing it. :D
