well let look at this Mongoose can say spend man hours simply replacing d20 with runequest rules and republish books witch the whole d20 collect at half off is about what 200- 400 dollars american, and get me as a customer and loyal Fan , because if i had the time to convert i would , heck i have the french version of conan brps - i just love the work mongoose put into this product, i do not play d20 with conan
what if there are 100 fan out there like me?
100x 200.00-400.00 so you tell me what mongoose is loosing out on, now what if there more out there then 100? what if there is freaky 400 or even 800, is i t a netch that they can afford to ignore

As much as I would prefer an RQ version over d20 version I am pretty sure that d20 supporters overwhelm us many times not to mention that the line is already well established. Another (and main) problem seems to be the fact that Mongoose can't publish d20 and MRQ versions of Conan. 
Runequest fans are like the invading Aquilonians and us D20 players who have purchased and enjoy the many books as is, are the Cimmerians. We have a tendency to come at the RQ fans who wish to change the official system in the same way the Cimmerians protected their land in the Battle of Venarium. It's not pretty.

Whereas Runequest fans find the rules heavy, clunky abomination that is d20 and its assorted vile offspring to have strayed where they do not belong when it comes to Conan.

I do not propose to end their D20 line I am asking for a converted Conan to RQ, AT ONE TIME MANY MOONS AGO a company I know of put out thieves world and it had CHARACTER DONE IN Traveller, Runequest and AD and D!

I do not care personally what the Zombie Hordes D 20 Drones want, I am 38 years old been gaming for 25 years and have more money then the average d20 20's something olds that mostly play it.
those over thirty who play D20 IS NOT an issue because most of them well be wanting 4E version soon any way.
D20 has its place as a great starter game it has structure and is very near the online ty pe of games the younger folk enjoy till they mature and realize better gaming equals less rules!
Like those who become mature contributing adults realize better government equals less government- opps I let my political view show again- sorry -lol

It's all good. Humor can be hard to convey exactly on a forum, yet I keep trying. :shock:
The only reason I like the current system is because it does what it advertises and successfully creates Hyborian Age, heroic fantasy, sword & sorcery style adventures.
If it didn't deliver the Robert E. Howard Conan formula then I would look elsewhere. I've heard complaints about certain rules and how they compare to other rule systems and that other rule systems are easier but no one I have ever read - and I've been on the Conan forum here for 4 years - has complained that the Conan RPG does not capture the sword & sorcery, heroic fantasy gaming experience. The main mechanics work enough to differentiate themselves from other rpgs. Mongoose got it right and as a fan of Conan and Howard that is really cool and I'll keep playing it for that reason.
