Commission versus Advancement

Hi folks,

I note in the rules that a Commission roll is optional and replaces the Advancement roll for that term.

Presumably, if my enlisted grunt opts to push for a Commission and succeeds, he still gains a roll on the desired/appropriate skill table?

Does anyone have a problem with that the commission roll is usually higher than the advancement roll. I would think that most characters would not bother to go for officer due to that reason. I've heard the officer's mess is nice :lol: (wouldn't know, retired as an army staff sergeant) but not a reason to waste a possible extra skill roll.

What do you all think?

It should be tough to get commissioned, you're a leader. Not everyone is a leader no matter what they might think.
