I've got an opportunity to finally run a test of the V2 combat system this Monday. Given the proximity of the v3 ms, should I bother ? In other words, will input about v2 still be helpful, or should I wait for the revision ?

Comments are always useful. Just because something didn't get changed in v2 doesn't mean it won't get updated in a future document. The more data, the better.
