Combat Styles specific to a setting

I'm about to start running a Legend game set in Lankhmar. The setting book, Lankhmar Unleashed, while updated for MRQII and subsequently errata'd leaves something to be desired regarding Combat Styles.

I see Lankhmar as being closer to say Venice or Italian City States of the early to mid 16th century, but without firearms, than a truly fantasy medieval background.

In character generation PCs can have Noble, two types of Barbarian, Freemen, Mariner or Nomad as their Background. These backgrounds list a selection of weapons with a bonus, but aren't grouped into Styles (although they are labelled as such).

So I grouped them into Combat Styles based upon my reading of the books and 40+ years of gaming. Comments or suggestions welcome.

Noble Combat Styles - Pick One +10%

All these Combat Styles are known at base (STR+DEX or DEXx2) with listed bonuses.
Weapons are limited to those listed.
Armour is restricted to leather (soft/hard), ring and scale mail in the form of coats, hauberks and greaves. Padded linen hauberks are also available.
Helmets are leather (soft/hard), linen or AP4 kettle hats or morions.
Everyone has Dagger at base STR+DEX+10% and can train it higher.
Everyone has Thrown Dagger at base DEXx2 and can train it higher.
Learning a new single weapon technique requires two weeks training with a competent teacher (26%+) to gain it at base chance of success.
A Style with mixed melee and ranged weapons, when gaining increases, adds the same increase to both ranged and melee weapons although the base may be different.

While I did read Leiber's stories a long time ago, I seem
to remember that the spear (well, actually lance) would
be far more likely as a Mingol cultural weapon than the
blowgun ?

Yes, I have wondered about several choices made in the Mongoose RPG Material after rereading the books. I'm almost inclined to consider some of the weird stuff cut n'paste errors.

I'll switch out blowpipe and replace it with lance although off-hand I don't remember too many of those either.

A search of all the stories reveals blowguns only used by the Seven Black Priests - Keshites protecting a statue of a god in the Mountains of the Old Ones.

Lances are used by Mingols and I also added them for City State cavalry (Lankhmar, Ilthmar and probably the Eight Cities as well).
