Cidikar carrier

It is pretty nice, but with the other Brakiri carriers getting double the 1e fighter flights I'm not sure whether I'll get one or not. Especially as I'm waiting for my Couramai and one monsterous ship per fleet is plenty or me. For now.

I don't mind the design, but it's not a Cidikar. We know what that looks like, and this ain't it.

I just wish Mongoose had come up with an original name.

its one of those models thats, yet its a good ugly. i wouldnt expect a big ass carrier to look cute and cudly(and it certainly doesnt), but threatening YES!

the cidikar looks like this:

IT was concept art done by Agents of gaming. it's not the best picture, but it's the only one i have on my computer at the moment. there was at least 1 more(and better) that i know of.

I scratch built it in fleet scale. the main reason why i like the AoG one better was that it fit more with the smooth contoured Avioki, Brokados, and Halik More then the mongoose one does.

That said, i like the kabrokta, the Shakara, and the Mongoose Corumai. especially the corumai which, to my mind, fits the established brakiri design aesthetic more then the original AoG concept art(which i scratch built in FA scale as well)

In fact i think the Shakara would scale well as some sort of ISA era Brakiri Dreadnought for FA scale! I just wish that some stores in Canada would bloody carry the line!

I know the one. Are they based on a previous 'offical' design. AoG didn't do one did they?

the never got past the concept art phase for the Antoph light cruiser, Cidikar, nad Corumai. This was probably doe to them switching most of teh line to FA scale. but tehy never got around to releasing them in that either.

AoG never produced a miniature, but they did publish line drawings, and a silhouette on their ship control sheet.

Basically it was a trimaran, with three closely spaced deep cigar-shaped hulls connected by fins and struts a la Avioki. To my eyes, it was a very striking and graceful design.

If Mongoose had gone with that, I'd have bought two, and a Brakiri fleet to go with them.

As I said, I don't mind this design, and I'd echo the comments about Mongoose's sculpting skills continuing to improve.

sorry greg, we seem to be typng messages at the same time. i was eating lunch during my first post, so it took me 20 or so minutes to write

Well, about the Cidikar: At first glance I found ot pretty ugly, until I took a look at the close ups. I think it´s pretty satisfying, not my favourite model, but not bad either. Good enough to be used in my fleet.

chop off the front wings, shorten the ridged neck by 1/3 and attach one of the front wings to the bottom of the rear section.. using it to attach the ship to the base and finally run a connecting rod from the bottom front of the ship to the rear in parallel with the ridged neck.... then it would look better.
