Chronos... improvements

Mongoose took the chronos, made it a replacement olympus, and upped to raid.

What if it was a replacement Artemis?

Knock the secondaries down a few dice, lose the twin linked and knock back down to skirmish?

EA crusade has delphi and hyperions for raids; but just a hyperion AC for skirmish.
 
Either way, the Crusade list is a little bare at the PL the Chronos isn't at. The Hyperion AC is actually a very good ship, just not spectacularly hard hitting. The Hyperion HC is almost the exact opposite, a hard hitting ship that can't take much punishment for its PL. They are both viable choices for a fleet, particularly the AC as an initiative sink at Skirmish that is quite hard to kill.

As for the Chronos itself - it could go either way. It's a nice ship as it is but only solid really. If dropped to Skirmish and dropping the weaponry it becomes a great escort and much less of a destroyer.
 
It would also lose have lose 4-5 hits as well as some AD dice to get to skrimish choice. 20 hits, Int 3 would be a little much. It would be a awesome escort which i personally think it should be.
Leaves a bit of a hole in the raid lvl with the Nova gone. EA need a good raid ship that carries a few fighters. Looks a job for Nike & Boreas cutter builders. I really like their ships. Maybe a light carrier?

Exact which I mean… leave us model scratchbuilders simple a little time and it determine please be. To her must only occasionally times say which for ideas and conceptions you have. :wink:

isnt that a normal chronos minus one interceptor? plus people are saying they want a skirmish version not a battle level one, already plenty of battle choices in the crusade era fleet.

NO, this one have Advance Jump point, Troops :10, Particle Beam 10" T 6 AD Anti-fighter, weak and Speed 6. This one is of Assault ship and and antifigther ship.
 
And is also just about the worst Battle choice Ive ever seen. Im sorry but a BATTLE level ship with 20 hit points? I dont care what else it has its just free victory points!

The Chronos is fine as it is imho. Personally I say put the danged Olympus back in the Crusade list for another skirmish choice, sure the Chronos has replaced it in that role but that doesnt mean they cant just downgrade all the existing Olympus to patrol craft roles etc (plus I've got lots of Olympus minis ;))
 
Why not bring the nova back as a Skirmish choice! :lol: (just kidding)

I'm all for a lightened Chronos at Skirmish. Take off 2 damage & crew and reduce all weapons, (except the turret railgun), by 1 AD.
 
Or Just bring back the Artemis but with an extra Interceptor.

Or perhaps we create somekind of midway ship between Artemis and Chronos;

It would have to be pretty big, maybe a bit blocky in shape.

With railguns. Lets say.... 4AD

Oh and Pop guns...6AD at a slightly less range than the rails. Twin Link them...

Needs a tad more punch though....lets have 2AD of Missiles.

Now then if i could only find some stats somewhere.... :roll:

Most every variant I've seen uses the same damage and crew scores, with the exception of a few EA vessels. I think the "anti-fighter" frigate has merit but keep the crew score and damage the same.
