Chill 3rd Ed

Ghost2020

Mongoose
Just curious if Mongoose or one of their allies would consider printing the Chill 3rd ed RPG?

Sounds like Other World Creations isn't going to be able to do it.

Is this anything that is even possible?

My apologies if it's been brought up before.

I can´t help myself... i ... have... to ... write... this:

Someone will respond to this thread like this:

"Oh yeah, Chill. Republish it under the RQII system."

And my comment (before anybody can post this) is:
There is no need. We have the perfect d100 horror game system:
Chaosiums CALL OF CTHULHU

Yeah...but I don't like that system. :D
And I don't much care for Call of Cthulhu as an RPG.

Great stories, but just not a fan of the RPG.
I know...heresy.

I guess the system doesn't quite run how I want to play. I prefer a bit more chance at living. I like the Chilll sytem, d20 Modern (which the d20 Cthulhu is quite good) and to a lesser extent GURPS (which is still deadly but I like the system better).

Fair enough, though the lethality of the system appeals to me as a player; it forces the party to think things through, to find weak spots and to fight only on their own terms. Outright attacks against the party should be rare unless something has gone horribly, horribly wrong. It's certainly possible to survive, but you should never expect to get into a fight with just about any Mythos being and walk away from it unless its either one of the weakest or else you're in a position that gives you an overwhelming tactical advantage. Cthulhu only requires one stat: devours 1d6 investigators each round.

I guess it's a matter of personal taste. Ok maybe heavily flavoured by the particular Gm, but that's a different issue.
I've played Chill 2nd Ed and it was quite fun, light hearted, but quite content with it.
Also played Cthulu a few times, didn't enjoy it. Summary each time: chew some time rolling up a PC. Investigate something for a couple of hours. Open a door. Fail a roll. Out of the campaign (without even a description for what had stuffed you). I didn't enjoy that. Different GMs, same outcome. Maybe not a coincidence.
I've heard there's also a Cthuluteck (or similar name) but never played it.
Ok, that's my 10 pence worth.
Cheers.
