Character Generator

I just took a quick look at the generator and had a few thoughts:

- Rolling attributes seems to only generate a result of 0.
- You may want to look into the tab order. Pressing tab seems to jump around the page.
- The number of spaces used for certain things is too large or too small. For example, the armor section has 17 entries in it, while humanoids tend to have only 7 hit locations. And in the skills section, there doesn't seem to be enough space for skills - characters tend to have many more than 14 skills.
- The Armor section doesn't have a space for ENC.
- The Spell section should have a blank for grimoire or pact, so you can know what you're rolling against, unless that's what you meant by the intensity column.

Hope that helps. 8)

Walktapus has 15 though, and headhangers can have as many as they want.

Seems to me that this isn't for PCs, it's just for NPCs.

First thanks for your quote.

First you must select a species, after roll.

Strange I checked and in my computer, in version 1.1, tab work.

- The number of spaces used for certain things is too large or too small. For example, the armor section has 17 entries in it, while humanoids tend to have only 7 hit locations. And in the skills section, there doesn't seem to be enough space for skills, characters tend to have many more than 14 skills.
No 17 armor but 17 Hit Locations, read NPC as humans and monsters with many hit locations. I added a few skills because I thought unimportant NPC (classical cannon fodder). I am planning to produce a version dedicated to playable characters, human, and powerful NPC.

- The Armor section doesn't have a space for ENC.
No more space. But in the Edit Armor section you can find/edit ENC. Indeed the program has a section for the calculation of the ENC, but it's currently under construction.

- The Spell section should have a blank for grimoire or pact, so you can know what you're rolling against, unless that's what you meant by the intensity column.
Interestingly, I have not noticed this problem. Work in progress

Thanks

Two new releases.
Runequest2 NPC v1.2: In this release I tried to reorganize the magic section, following the Chrönos suggestions. (Remember, simple NPC, and assistant masters :D).

Runequest2 PC v1.0: This release is to generate PC sheets, or powerful NPC sheets. The graphical base is a runequest2 sheet from http://runequest.aamunkoitto.net/files/MRQIISheet.pdf

The megaupload link are:
Runequest 2 npc v1.2 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=E4BHZAUR

Runequest2 PC v1.0 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RRXG6J7D

I'm getting progressively more annoyed with Megaupload! Have you tried Dropbox? Just copy the file into your Public folder, right-click, copy the link, and share it. No messing around with delays, premium accounts, adverts, or any of that nonsense.

Ok dropbox activated

Hi,

it seems both links are dead. Do you know if there is another location it could be found at ? Or if one of you has already downloaded it and would be able to email them to me, please PM me. I'll post them somewhere else and put a link on this thread.

Thanks !

Ok folks, sorry for the inconvenience. I uploaded (again) the files to dropbox. Now everything works

Can I use this on a Mac?

And it's supposed to open in Excel right? Mine won't read it :(

No...they are made in Filemaker Pro rather than Excel. But you don't need the full application installed on a PC to use them - not sure about whether they can be used on a Mac though.

Very nice work!

The files are zipped in an unusual format that may be related to their Mac origin. The OP uses FMPro on a Mac AFAIK and would probably be able to supply the Mac files if you need them.

The files are compressed with 7zip, open source software (http://www.7-zip.org/). You can use Parallel on MAC (or other virtualization software like VirtualBox) because I use Filemaker for Windows. You can export records in a xls file (File - Export record).
