Character Generator for Babylon 5 2e

Re tank...

IF you find one that does not require the handbook to use please do post the reference on the board. I am sure many of us would like to use it to tweak out a character to optimize it.

Re shadow, just courious, what specificly or in general is it that they do or do not like about the D20 system?

As an avid player of RPG I have played the White wolf dots/bubble/D10 system as well as the D20 system. I have even played the old Bab 5 Project system of D20/D6. I still far and away prefer the D20 as the easiest of all the systems in that it is a bit more random/less yawn than the others.

The D20 system is by far a more universal system that once you learn it you can easily switch between games--the mechanics stay the same.

I know someone used to have a first edition chargen online, but I can't remember the URL, which is a pity, I had a coupleof characters stored there.

Ahaah-hah!

Download Signs & Portents #42 Roleplayer from the main Mongoose site, and use the conversion guide therein. Covers the basic skills and feats conversion.

How on gods green earth would anyone think B5 is D&D in space? i mean there are no monsters, and B5 is either shooting at other humanoids life, starship fighting, or political/investigation/blackmail.
Granted, crusade is a bit like D&D in space, but not B5. As fo random NPC generator, if you knew what you were doing on C++ or visual basic you could come up with one for stats and other stuff, but it would be random. I could give it a go, as I have used it, but I am rusty. That and you need to get visual basic...

Know how it feels. I had a group of RPGing veterans in my cthulhu group, and spent two session on the Haunting from the core rulebook, and still nothing. The moaned about the percentile session and bit*hed behind my back about the ga,e, so nuts to them. that and three of the players had already played the scenario.
Just get another group of players.

Oh holy crap. Your first time GMing? Sorry it went like that. Don't let one crappy group of players put you off. Check out your LGS and try to start a game there.

Ah, why, prey tell, did he go 'I feel like hitting what closest'?

Well, I have been GMing a year now. Here is my advice:

No booze or drugs before after or during a game

No more than 6 payers, too much to handle

If the rule in the book seems unclear, just use common sense to work something out

If your not sure what to do, roll a d20 in a situation and add some sort of modifier to it.

The most important skill a GM can have is controlling the group of people playing. Not letting some talk over others, giving people equal time in turns, etc., advancing the story at a good pace.

Did you use pre-printed scnenarios or your own?

I wrote a few for call of Cthulhu if you want me to PM it to you for help if you find scenario writing a problem.

Don't get me started on bad gaming sessions. THe most memorable was a long campaing that accomplished nothing except making my bard character write parodies of popular songs about how inept the party was.

We seriously took a month to move from our starting place. It was once a week game, but still...

So, off to check e-bay for a cheap copy of B5RPG 2e.

Why does that seem like asecret code.
