Central Supply Catalogue - Illustration Key

Banded Mongoose
Dear Friends,

The Catalogue is a fantastic reference with great illustrations. However, in many instances, it is not clear which drawings correspond to which items, particularly in the case of firearms, as there are no captions/notations for most of the illustrations. In a number of sections there are more item descriptions than illustrations.

Would it be possible to get a key to the illustrations ?

Many thanks !

Gary

I woud not call the CSC as Good work
There are some issues, but most of it is good. The personal weapons are good. Some of the heavy support weapons (artillery) have serious issues, but most of the personal and melee weapons are fine.

Also, the armour and equipment is good :D

Unless someone does it first, i'll post a key tomorrow. Which sections in particular?

For the most part the illustrations are in the same order as the guns. Note that this doesn't mean that the picture of the gun is opposite the item entry, but if you count down the weapon descriptions and count down the pictures at the same time you'll see that the gross descriptions pretty much pair up - pistols compared to rifles and long/large-barrel versions are noticable, for example.

Compared to Mercenary they are paragons of perfection

To be fair, that part has never been much of an issue in games I've been involved in. Generally the rules for anything bigger than a squad support weapon are universal:

"That's an artillery piece, it's pointed this way, ohcrudohcrudwegonnadie."
Range: Plot-driven
Damge: More than enough

The supposed anti-orbit guns are pretty feeble, but then if you add in the Mercenary rules for multiple weapons combining fire against a startship they can still knock a ship about quite badly.
