CENTAURI HUNTING PACK: BROKEN?!

they always did do? (well for as long as it's been relevant anyway)

er fairly obvious - ship gets lit up by big explosion - your just lucky ship explosions don't (I don't think) and that the Centauri did not get an emine cruiser in P+P :P

I agree that High Energy Turn is effectively useless if it really is All Stop and Pivot, which does seem to be how it is written. Much better would be to allow it to be a double turn like All Stop and Pivot, but you're still allowed to move. Maybe a re-worded version can be included in whatever document also includes the re-worded Centauri Hunting Pack. :)

Energy mines always did count as breaking stealth, and not just against the Minbari. I already queried this while the playtest version was being discussed, wondering whether this was a new rule that it's only Minbari stealth which is now broken by energy mines; it's not. Why P&P specifically mentions it for Minbari, I don't know. Yet another piece of re-wording...

Also note that not all ACTA players read this forum, as I found out during the B5 Open Day last year - when I asked my opponents if they wanted to use the playtest P&P rules, the answer was always "What's P&P?". Which means it would be nice if whatever errata sheet includes all this re-writing is published somewhere else. And when it is, maybe the Shadows can get their Skirmish ship. ;)

Shadows only just got a battle level ship (they had a battle level POS before), so I wouldn't hold my breath for a skirmish one too

I imagine that they'll get E-Mines sooner or later, they get the best of everything else  they'll probably put it on the Balvarin! :P

Yeah I mean, the Centauri are a weak fleet and need new advantages to make them worth while taking.

nah probbaly a Elutarian variant - maybe just have different missile type available like with EA - sure no one would object to something else for the Republic.............

ISA got high speed turns which is All Stop And Pivot without doing All Stop the previous turn and without losing dodge.

I like the sound of that!

LBH

To be honest fella, the CQ check for the "High speed turn" is the same as for "Come About" - which, for White Stars would result in the same thing!

Not if you're too close tothe table edge to move before your firstturn it isn't.

LBH

If you're too close the the table edge then surely you'd do an All Stop followed by an All Stop And Pivot, rather than risk a CQ9 special action? Failure of HET would reuslt in flying off the table anyway... All Stop then AS&P is guaranteed to keep you on the table, assuming you don't get shot to pieces!

True, but in mydefence I haven't had a chance to read the new HET rules yet.

Besides, Damn the CQ check full speed ahead (or not imn this case)

Now, explain to me again... why doesn't LBH win many games!?! :P

Either due to overthinking, lack of thinking, overstrategising, or usually coming up with a good few strategies and then forgetting them in the heat of combat.

There was one tourney I won 3 games out of 4, including a win against the then world champion Dralafi. An event perhaps to be repeated at the upcoming campaign weekend, yeah right!

re the revised rule

If the target can be attacked by one ship within the
Hunting Pack, every other ship in the Pack will increase
the range of its weapons by half.

Does a ship reloading its weapons but still in range give the bonus to the other ships in its pack?

"can be attacked" - a reloading weapon can't attack.
