Centauri Duties Question

Hi All,

My friends and I are currently in the midst of a campaign. I have rolled on the Centauri Duties table and have received several Haven Escorts for some of my ships.

My question is: Do the Havens gain experience from future battles or does it count as part of the "mothership" and therefore gets no experience?

I would suggest the later as it does not seem fair to me that a ship gotten for free could potentialy garnish more rolls on the tables.

What do you guys think?

I would assume they do earn XP, as a Haven is a ship, not an Aux. craft. But, only for battles they take part in - if they're not there, no XP of course!

Hmm.

I was hoping that would not be the case.

I have rolled up 12 Haven escorts and if they survive battles they participate in (the don't count to the FAP) I could net a lot more XP. It just doesn't seem fair.

We've always treated them as their own ship. Our Centauri player had a ship gain a Haven escort, which then gained its own Haven escort

I played Centauri in a campaign and had a Haven Escort for the Haven Escort. In a patrol level game this can make a huge difference as they are free ships. At the higher priorites they are just a liability.

We do also count the escort as ships.
Therefore the escort can gain/use XP.
Our Centauri player is very happy with it ;-)
For patrol or skirmish it is a lot of ships I agree but at higher priorities you just don't care.

In fact we prefer him to roll a "Haven Escort" rather than a New world ;-)

As a pak player for this campaign I've never been beaten by the Centauri in patrol games (even with haven escort) :D
