Carring case for minatures

I been looking at the different cases out there. I am not sure which one I really want to go with. I wish I could see them up close to see which will work better. Which cases do you all like to use?

If you can get to a show or convetion take a look around for some of the traders. In the UK Figures in Comfort are usually at the major shows. However I am not sure about the US.

I use really deep "eggbox" foam in a GW figure case.

it works good for me I like that it is cheep.

My old rifle case would have been badly suited to models. It was really long and narrow (oddly enough) and not very deep. Very unwieldy to carry around. I don't reccomend such a thing.

I use hard drive boxes, they come complete with eggshell padding and are just right size for a 5 point Raid fleet.

For larger scale storage at home I use some component boxes I picked up from Lidl for £1.99 :lol:

I went for the Sabol system. I have 2 Platoon-sized carry cases and just a whole lot of foam. I choose what I need to bring (for CTA I can get 2 fleets in one case) and load up.

Most ships fit in the 1.5" foam, some like the larger Brakiri ships need the 2" or 2.5". Although, I'm using that magnetic adapter system so none of my ships have the bases attached to them (which makes them smaller).

I went with Sabol as well and since I use the barrel clasp stand, I just screw the bases off and don't have to use the thick foam, which means more minis in the one case.

I use a cheap (£10) flight case from B&Q. Added some foam to the inside and now have a fully functioning carry case!

I also use and support the Sabol system. I have a Battalion Transport and use the 1.5 for my Vorlon and Drakh fleets I have then with the "Ninja Magic" connectors so I can carry them and all the basses seperate along with Warmachine, Mordheim, ect. I play alot of games and need all those with me so when I go play I'm good to go with whatever everyone is willing to play

Oh that reminds me.. before I decided to dive in to the Sabol system I used an UltraPro case for my Warmachine and Wings of War Minis:

The one at the bottom of the page holds quite a fair bit. The large holes fit a Warjack nicely, and the bottom is for smaller figure-sized miniatures.

If you're never going to have a huge amount of minis, then that may do.

this was a gun case not a rifle case , it's about 9" deep and I hold 2 levers of models in it.

Lord David, he is talking about hard pistol cases, not rifle cases. The ones he is referring to are almost the exact same size as the GW cases, but only $10.
