Can Shadows Get Space Stations?

I found out Shadows no longer gain a Shadow Cloud, but I noticed in the campaign section that it gives a generic cost for them and it gives the examples of B5. It then goes to say most fleets can take the stats presented for the B5 station but then only gives specific examples of the Earth fleet taking a specific kind of station. Could the Shadows gain a generic space station and would they have to pay 2 times the cost on top of the 3 times when the station itself isn't even grown? It doesn't say they can't (same for Vorlons) but the term "most fleets" is vague. In addition if the Shadows or Vorlons can't take them what fleets can/can't?

Yes:

Shadow Cloud

This can be either built as an Assault or Base mode. In Base mode it is like a space station, immobile around a Strategic Target. In Assault mode it joins your Fleet Roster and can ONLY be used in Planetary Assault scenarios (see special rules below). As this is an Armageddon level base, it costs 240 RR to purchase (40x2x3).

Hull: 5

Damage: 1000/500/250

Craft: Shadow Fighter flights (16)

Traits:

Carrier 4

Advanced Antifighter 8

Immobile*

Shields 20/10

Space Station

Targets 6

Weapons

Molecular Slicer Beam

Range 24, 4 AD, Beam, Precise, Quad Damage

Thermonuclear Missiles

Range 30, 8 AD, Precise, Super AP, Triple Damage

*In Assault mode, when attacking in a Planetary Assault scenario, the Shadow Cloud will automatically move 4" towards the target planet in every End Phase. Once it has been in contact with the planet for three consecutive turns, its missiles will have disrupted the planet's core enough for all life to have been wiped out on its surface. The scenario will be a victory for the Shadows.

I can only guess it is non official.....As for Shadows taking a Space Station my gaming group allows the generic version. The only difference we have is that the station gets shadow fighters.

This is what I was thinking as it only makes sense and is fair. However do you guys still force the Shadow player to pay double and treble? Since the station in question is actually built and not home grown would it ignore the Ancients reinforcement rule?

a shadow player would pay the same amount of points as a normal player would is how we run it. Otherwise it would never be worth it.

My understanding is that the Shadows and Vorlons pay double for new purchases to balance the fact that the do not have to pay for any repairs; crippled status, criticals, damage or crew damage. If I'm wrong please correct me.

Since the space station does not receive any of these benefits I don't see any reason why it should be doubled on top of already being tripled. My group (I play with jetbaker) actually ruled that Vorlon and Shadow fighters don't cost double to replace, since they don't gain any advantage from autorepair either.

Correct, this is unofficial. As I've been doing, I've attempted a conversion of the space stations for the campaigns I'm running (with conversions posted for Abbai, Narn, and Minbari).

Kakkarotto_san is one of my players who is braving his first attempt at the Shadows.

its actually the 1e shadow cloud anyway pretty much.
but for now in 2e yes use the generic station without the double cost and obviously your fighters are shadow fighters.

On a different note someone mentioned in a previous post if your group allowed it, it would be a way for those races that dont have a fleet carrier (Vorlons,Shadows, Psi Corp, etc) to generate fighters. That in and of itself if proven to be correct would be worth purchasing.
