Bye Bye B5 Tournament

there wasn't no, but now you mention it, it may be needed. .
as for a list of who is going, I am sure Wing Commander has one.

UPDATE/Adendum, whatever you want to call it.

Due to concerns reaised by several players, and the Line Mongoose themselves took, we have sadly taken the decision to exclude the gaim from the Tournament. I appreciate this may not be ideal for some people, and they are a damned sexy looking fleet, but their sheer effectiveness makes them a no brainer for someone whose sole intention is winning, they also drain the fun from other players.

thanks.

Anyone going to the tourney want to buy / swap a pack of Drazi fighters from the fleet box - 8 Flights of Star Snakes

thanks :)

Just want to check before I turn up and make an arse of myself - is a mixed League of Non-Aligned Worlds fleet allowed, or do I have to pick a faction and then use only their ships?

Truth be told it's not a huge obstacle, just helps to know what I can and can't do whilst plotting...

Also on the subject of trades/sales, I've got two blisters of Nial fighters going if anyone wants. :)

Thanks - much appreciated. :)

And if I've learned only one thing so far, it is to never turn up for a game with Gaim...

as per the fleet book.

Combined fleets of the Non-Aligned Worlds may select Hurr Gunships, Ipsha War Globes and Lumati Transports as if they were League ships.

although amusingly the line above says they should not be used in tournaments of campaigns

I have no problem with them.......................... :)

does it really, I must have missed it, however The Ipsha at least look cool, and it would be nice to see one in action. Neither ship has raised a mention so they seem to be accepted! I may build mine up, and um, change my entire primary fleet!

maybe it will be intercepted by the Brakiri flying wang with Liati escorts in a joint illicit sextoy crakdown by the brakiri and centauri!

OK, me again with the questions...

Just want to confirm the arrangements for splitting the fleet down - do we have to turn up with pre-selected rosters for the two smaller games, or can we pick and choose to those levels based on what's sitting on the other end of the table?

For example, if I drew Minbari game 1, can I load the fleet up with Scouts, or do I have to be sure to include a couple in a pre-selected roster at 5 Skirmish points?

please bring the selected fleet for each level if you would. whilst i love tailoring fleets, it can get a bit hectic

I just this moment noticed the "have to be able to split your fleet from 5 Battle". Is there any reason for this? It doesn't seem to add anything to me except making swarm fleets better choices (as their choices can be broken down more easily) - is that what you were looking to do?

So long as your fleets are picked before the day, does this rule actually add anything?

just meant you couldn't tailor everything to a specific level.

you know, this is Marks tourney, how have i ended up doing all this stuff lol.

He he, when work comes it really hits you!

I only ask as it messes up my Vorlon fleet quite significantly (with no Raid PL choice) that I've just finished painting. I'll have to make a decision whether to take 4 FAPs in the Skirmish PL game now or give away loads of VPs in the Battle PL game through Fighter deaths...

Edit - actually I've just worked out that the only way I can sort it is to take a Destroyer in the Skirmish PL game... here goes nothing!

Vorlon fighters won't give away all that many VPs - range 3 so none should die to AF, and they have AAF themselves to help dogfight losses ;)

True but when they're worth 1VP each in a Battle PL game, I'd concentrate all of my "normal" weapons at them too. Not to mention having any e-mines present...

Of course, if I get lucky and don't face these sorts of fleets then it could work...

OK thanks - I guess I was just thinking out loud as I hadn't read this clause before and it messed up my plans somewhat. Thankfully I think I now have a plan :)

yeah, it messed up my selection too, I have to take a ship i would never go near with anyones pointy stick usually.... damn!
