Burger presents... Fleet Designer!

Ah. Yeah.... bandwidth ran out.

Unfortunately the features I require:
- ASP
- MS Access database
- Free
...don't come without drawback ;)

If anyone can suggest a better host, or give me money to pay for a host, please let me know!

rats, I just wen to have a mooch too!
dunno, free i don't do, I pay 30 quid for 2 years for the one I update.
(not the linked one, thats my own, and down for an update)

Well I guess I wouldn't mind paying a little, but geting the required functionality for a reasonable price is hard.

we use um, hang on.... 34sp.com
but then probably don't have the kind of traffic you do, 2250 unique IP's in what, 4 monts, so 500 a month, ooh, actually, I'm quite pleased with that, of course it could be one man, 500 times with an ever changing IP ;-)

Ship Comparator is now added :D

You can enter how highly you value certain traits (or accept the default values), and it will calculate a ship's value based on some algorithm that I cooked up.

Not surprisingly the Yamato is way up at the top although not by as big a margin as I thought it would be. Iowa is next of course, and the rest are a good 20% weaker. Right down to the Colorado, which is only half as powerful as a Yamato.
Takao is top of the Raid choices by a large margin, even surpassing every single Battle level ship. Those obscene torps are responsible for that.
Aoba is the lead Skirmish, the Japs are doing rather well aren't they?
At Patrol, predictably its the Fletcher at the top of the pile.

Carriers are excluded, mainly for simplicity's sake. Rating the aircraft is something I haven't done yet.
Subs didn't do very well, I think "submersible" needs to be worth more!

I'd just like to say thanks for providing this incredibly useful website. It is a great resuource.

But I do have one very pedantic question or request that has no real impact on the site...

Is there any way to shift the Ship stats 2-4 points away from the left hand edge of the table and the same with the weapon stats... Just to blanace the design of the cards... 8)

It's the designer in me that is asking because as it stands the rest of me knows they are perfectly useable...

Again... awesome stuff... :D

I have one minor request: for ships that have Spotters, like the New York, can you add their stats also? If I don't have a cards I will forget about it. If you just want to do one card for the whole fleet, that's cool.

Another idea would be to put the Spotter as a separate selectable entry on each fleet list.

Nezeray

Spacing is improved.
Civilian shipping is in.
Observation aircraft are in.
Z-Plan from S&P41 are in.

The only I see missing is the in service dates. But then nobody uses them to put together a fleet list anyway!

Excellent resource!

Yeah, all the real-life data is omitted for space and tidiness reasons. It isn't really needed when you're playing the game.
