British weapons missing?

jus thought of sumert why do sas use barret m109 for sniper which is in fact only used to sniper targets through armour but sas or brit army in general uses either L96 accurate to 900 or L115A1 accurate to almost a mile at 1100+. LSW can hit at 1000 but its bloody hard with elevation and windage takin the pee abit lucky shot at 1000 or 1 every couple rounds on target at 800. sa80 or L85 is accurate to 400-500 but can hit at 600 if ur a good shot. this is all based on friends in infantry who is a marksman an uses the LSW and other m8 who is also marksman but hes in reme(brit engineer) and only gets the sa80. ak47-74 in the rite hands can hit at 300 but best really at 200 the same as a brit bakers rifle from 2 centurys agho agaisnt napolean LOL the very first rifle made standard in army in the world and regiment who used was the 95th who came up wiv bounding an camo for uniforms that all modern armies are based on today....end of rant... lol

the SAS do use the Barrett on occassion. The difficulty with representing the SAS or any special forces is that they often have mis-matching kit and it depends on mission. Hard to factor that into a box of plastic soldiers! :lol:
I'm just glad they didn't give them L85A2s as they first had in the S&P battle report from last year!

on occasion they do use barrets but on most times they use L96. surely barrets shud be used as a very expensive point wise option but it has far more power than a d6 so make it a d10 due to the armour piering ability it has

AFAIK there are 8 men in the BF:Evo troop and 8 in the box so there are no extras (without dropping a team)

AFAIK there are 8 men in the BF:Evo troop and 8 in the box so there are no extras (without dropping a team)

There are 10 in the box allowing you to choose betwenn the minimi or barrett

Yeah, just like there are 10 in the PLA and 9 in the USMC vs. the 8 for ETF/MEA.

Just being a bit provocative here but so what? The SAS squad does not have the same standard kit it has other unique features. They do have snipers, LMGs etc.. Would it really make such a difference to the game flow if they had another 2-3 weapons choices? A scenario where you would field an all SAS 3-4 squads force where it might make a difference is certainly not a normal scenario. If I am wrong please do say

They pick and choose to a point, the patrol leader has the choice of weapons for the whole patrol, it's not based on what each individual prefers like in a computer game. They do have some equipment that becomes semi standard for a period. In the gulf war for example the M-16 was available to them as a standard rifle choice i.e in enough quantity to equip the regiment at war. Granted a few SA-80's were taken by sections but it goes to show how a weapon can become standard just to them. It was always going to be tough to come up with any kind of future weapons choice for these guys. Hopefully as the game expands more "single choice" specialists will become available and Lannies of course

I know don't get me wrong, I think people are thinking I was saying I didn't like the SAS squad, I was defending the decision to give them the Barrett. The SAS rarely use the SA80 (heavier than the M16 and less reliable) but what I was getting across was that a regular army section has specific weapons, these guys have more freedom of options.

Yeah I know what you mean i don't think that the game will be affect substantially by such lower level tinkering.

it was the c7 diemaco's which is they canadian version of the m16 which can fire full auto and is generally better then m16 and which sas still use today along side minime, gpmg, l96, l115a1, barret 109, ilaw, nlaw, milan, javelin, 50 cal. an 40mm agl...plus many more than can remember but sas only used m16s with m203's in falklands war
