British weapons missing?

Mr Evil said:
well it seems were not gonna go back on subject, here

isnt it true the marines dont fire on full auto as their weapon can only do semi/burst.

in that case nothing to do with training at all !!!
?

the M16A3 is capable of auto-fire but the M16A2 and the new M16A4 can only use 3 round burst

just out of interest whats the diferances between the USARMY and USMC and do the USMC have as many women serving as the USARMY ?

well this is the USMC rifleman's creed

This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.
My rifle, without me, is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will...
My rifle and myself know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit...
My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will ever guard it against the ravages of weather and damage as I will ever guard my legs, my arms, my eyes and my heart against damage. I will keep my rifle clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will...
Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and myself are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life...
So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy, but peace!

just looked ...

point of this thread...

missing weapon from brit team !!!!!!

be nice to hear from the mongoose guys on the ethos behind this rather than spining of.

Yep and getting back on-topic here is my suggestion for the LSW

L86 Light Support Weapon

Range: 36" Damage: D6

LSW: The LSW gains a +1 bonus to its Damage Dice against size 1 targets only. If a Ready action is taken before it shoots, you may opt to roll its Damage Dice against the model in the centre of the Fire Zone, rather than allocate normally.

Trying to decide on a points cost to replace one of the L85A2 riflemen.

a wet fish is a lot of help to an otter!

It shows the USMC has an ethos towards accuracy. Look at the US gun killers the Marine Corps has trained down the years! :P

Surely for the level of detail that the game has it is going to only be fractionally more. In practice it has a slight range advantage that's it. So only a very modest sum of points, 5?

that certainly appears to be the difference between a Fedayeen rifleman and sniper so I think you're correct. :)

It did seem quite small to me!

I would think 10 points... I would also say that if it is readied that the model has to re-roll successful armour saves, or 5 points without the re-roll (but these guys are taught to take time over their shots and to shoot to kill, which I would assume shooting un-armoured parts of the body).

rite shadowace sorry it sounded like i was getting into well my army is better than urs lol but u asked for actual rounds fired to kills well as i said before in battle of al amaragh or howeva u spell tha damned place out of the 2 sections on the ground and the couple WMIK land rovers sent out the soldiers were only issued 100 rounds each including for the minime and at the end of day over a hundred dead so lookin at 10 rounds for every kill which doesnt sound like spraying to me :p i only really know about brit army an wot i know is u do not fire full auto or back at all if u cannot get good line of sight on the one whos shootin at u and only then if u can get LOS u take well aimed fire one shot at a time or if bounding(fire and manuevre) then 2 rounds at enemy then move to next cover an lay down 2 more rounds for ur teammate to bound an so on, no private will start spraying as they wud instantly get boot in their face of their section leader and every private is shit scared of NCO's as they get beasted to shit if they dont follow orders or RoE. and as for firing back first it depends on how much lead is goin over ur head at the time lol but usually NCO wud do not only due to bein veteran but also to inspire an lead by example the rest of the section

i was just using the sniper rules the fedayeen and SAS have, afawk, wouldn't make much sense to make the LSW a better sniper rifle than actual sniper rifles!

also LSW accurate to 600 but kills are still quite easy to get at 800 an those rules look good for it wiv points being extra 10 - 15....ish lol

the Army list it as 1000 metres effective range with the SA80 400. A good shot withthe SA80 though will hit the target at 500.

The points are difficult until we know for sure what the Fedayeen and SAS snipers pay, but on the Evo command forums the fedayeen pay +10 for a rifleman and +15 for a sniper, so only a 5pt gap.
