Blood of Orlanth

Mongoose
Hi all,

Does anyone know of any plans to reprint Blood of Orlanth for MRQII? If not, is there much effort involved to convert it to the new version of the rules? What sorts of changes would be needed?

I'll probably run Pavis Rises next, but I'd like to keep my options open and Blood of Orlanth looks really good.

I think that Blood was an excellent campaign. When it comes to running it under RQII you could just play it as is and wing the occasional difference. That would work but possibly not brilliantly. The reason for that is two-fold.
1) Starting RQII characters are much more competent than starting 1st ed characters. A lot of the threats would cease to be a threat.
2) Magic. Blood tries very hard to make 1st ed magic work. The campaign is very magic light, there are integrated runes all over the place and skill values are low, low, low. A mage who is purportedly one of the most important God Learners around has skills in the 60% range.

It would be great to see it revised for RQII but I can't imagine Mongoose taking that route. I wonder if they would think about doing a 'upgrade patch' in S&P. That would be cool.

IMHO, what Mongoose should do is publish more campaigns for RQ II!!!
I'm sure Pavis Rises will be great, but more campaigns or scenarios books are needed.

Living Glorantha was launched in July and is going to give us a scenario every month.... (It's now December, so they are only 4 behind at the moment...)

I would love to see Runequest II adventures, of the same level of quality as say Paizo products. Even if you don't have all the fancy art. But don't skimp on maps.

+1.

Let's assume that MRQII adventures like that were published. Let's also assume that they're mostly Glorantha-based (or Elric-based), it would be really nice for some of them at least to be easily portable out of Glorantha so that those of us who aren't interested in that world can still use the adventures. Then there could also be adventures which are intimately tied into Glorantha for those who wish to explore that world more fully.

I'd like to see an adventure or two for supplements like Vikings, something more in depth than a pdf or S&P article.

You can put me on the list of folks who want a generic adventure that can go in any world. Glorantha isn't my cup of tea.
