Block War expansion discussions

Mongoose
Well after a few days I have my points, as I am sure many do.

-Compared to the handgun, handcannon and antique revolver, I beleive the cursed earth eagle is over priced. I beleive 20creds sounds fair. Compare to laser Pistol which is stronger for only 25creds with no limitation. Though only 12" range.

-Agian we run into the Lawgiver confusion. Is th SE a 2D attack or a 3D attack. The main book states 2D, the Judge Mix example shows 3D, agian in block war it shows 3D.=====Fixed: should be 3D===

-Brit Cit judges are listed with truncheons, but no refernce is made in the weapons section, I take it they are "as daystick"?===treat as daystick===

-the plod bot brings up again the problem with auto will checks, they will auto find hiding characters. how about a sensor number, so the will stat would read -(+1) etc.

-Vehicles appear to be treated like characters but with facing armor values. Is this correct as there is not mention of how vehicles work, also what would the distance for ramming to take effect be. I beleive in 1" per raming die.

-as vehicles do not have agility is the target number set? So the Manta(massive) would be hit on a 3+ where as the block buggy below would be hit on 5+?

so could other vehicles be like.
Block Buggy
m-6 / ramdice-2d/ shoot --/ front +1/ side +1/ back+1
Type large wheeled
1 passenger
no equipment.

Will there be a diffenece between closed top(hard) and open topped(soft). Somthing like closed has armor value and open tops give "cover" bonuses.

More questions/ideas are sure to come.

I would like to see those rules for riots and the like. The idea of judges having to corral around mobs of citizens sounds like a fun scenario in and of itself. On that note:

-Model(s) of a mob. Think like 50mm base with 4-5 citizens armed with clubs, broken bottles or what have you. Maybe an old guy with a pitchfork (where he got it in Mega City 1, nobody knows). I believe that a unique sort of model and rules for mobs would give a better immersion towards the idea that Judges/gangs aren't just fighting a new set of gang members.

-Increased rules for riot shields. I posted this in the current rules suggestion thread, I won't copy paste unless needed.

-Scenarios for mobs:
~I Love a Parade: In the mobs, there contains a single or multiple target(s) for the gang or judges to take out or arrest. Maybe he's an informant. Judges or opposing gang wants to protect him. Rolled for randomly when a mob takes a hit or is destroyed to see if he got taken out.
~Break on Through: A mob is cutting off judges or gang member's objective.
~Rock and a Hard Place: The gang or judges are trying to flee through the mob to escape from pursuit and have to exit on the opposite board edge from where they start.
~Distraction: Mobs are running amok. Several objectives are scattered through out the playing field. Try to avoid or detain (or kill) the mobs while collecting objectives and getting them to your board edge to escape with.

YEs Mob rules! I'll see if i can come up with anything the all mighties will like.

Also your scenarios are good I especially like "I like a parade"

I was looking forward to riot rules - something i've always fancied gaming - but the scenarios suggested by 'Surtur' sound absolutely great.

So after playing a 5000pt vs 3700pts block war, I have a few items, I am sure most will be answered once the vehicle rules come out.

-- The Manta, and I presume many others, will have a passenger capacity. how does boarding/unboarding work with the two action system?

--Will ther be the usual rules of vehicles only being able to fire certain weapona if moved so far? Not sure it is neccessary in this rule set.

-- Will there be another limit to the riot and and stumm gas on the manta. As being able to fire both in a huge diameter... well 31 of my 48 models went down in that one turn. Seems..... cheap, even if the Manta cant move before firing.

--The block war took 2 hours, that was with loads of distractions. It was a real change of pace but better than those other games where you spend 4 hours and still dont finish.

-- 15d10 going at one judge is a truly scary sight ( I was rolling so I was grinning)

--The Armor changes made combat enjoyable. Just as you said, things weren't dying as fast.

Overall the block war rules and few changes were great. Keep em coming!

By the way this was my attempt for the Sciroco. It worked beautifully.

Sounds like larger battles work well, did you use the mob rules?

Sirocco stats look good. I'm working from the info in John Caliber's Drokk City and am arming mine with 2 missile launchers and something called a 'howitzer stutter
cannon' whatever one of those is. He also notes 6 passengers rather than 8.

Just bought one of these to convert http://www.chaosmailorder.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/m2390255a_99120101094_StormTalon12_873x627.jpg and will forgo any passenger capability.

Yes I was using the mob ruels, it was a little difficult at first, you know remebering they should all be one unit, re-reading rules on how mobs should work. Once we got the hang of it there was no problems.

For the Scirroco I used the stats out of the Judge Dredd RPG(traveller).

I though about using a flyer from one of their many lines. Unfortuanly the prices are too high for my blood. So I went with Dust tactics, I get the flyer and five models for 2/3 the price. <- but this is for a different topic altogether.

Although looking at the stormtalon, I think the stats I put would work well also.
