Big 3 Coalition

Putins never going dude!
Truth of the matter is, Russia's doing alot better under him and his 'neo-communism' than it ever would have under a conventional capitalist system (Which only really works if you were already a prosperous nation if we're being honest), and theres alot of resource rich nations looking to Russia for leadership like Iran and venezuela, added to the fact that he's attempting to remove the maximum number of terms he can serve at the moment, which is likly to go through as smoothly as the lengthening of each of his terms which he pushed through at the start....
Yeah like I say Putin aint never going, one of the perks of having an ex-KGB as you're premier :D

*coughs*

A bullet does many things, Max. A bullet does many things..

It can start a war (WW1)
It can change a government (Presidential Assassinations)
It can end a war..

Putin isn't permenant as long as there are bullets and people are quite willing to use them. Give it time...if he becomes another dictator, there's ways of solving it.

well, given the number of times CIA failed to kill good ole Fidel i wouldn't be so sure
plus, the bugger's actually liked in russia, and most russians seem not to mind a autocrat at the helm.

hell, i prefer a reasonable dicator to the mess that democracy is(in theory at least, it's just too hard to find a reasonable dictator these days!)

Give it time.. It just takes one person to really throw that region out of whack...when was the last border skirmish?

Poko, what was it? One or two times in actuality? And the Bay of Pigs insurection was a failure because of a leak?

And again, give it time. Did I say a Russian would do it?

Well its not impossible, but its a hell of a lot harder to off someone these days then it used to be, especially with modern espionage techniques.
After all the balls upped state sponsered coups that have happened over the past couple of decades, and all the mess we're still cleaning up from the ones that did work I think we're kinda beyond them now. Hell look at Venezuela, thats quite a recent CIA attempt and it was a complete shambles!

While we're on the subject though, has anyone seen the footage of that press conferance where an old lady's heckling Putin from the crowd? Three guys in black suits bum rush her, two grab her arms and one injects her with something ominous looking. Russias one scary place :D (And thats without the terror that is the Russian mob!)

From what I heared the bay of pigs was a foul up mainly because three jets somehow weren't destroyed :D

Just a guy with a deer rifle overlooking the Kremlin..
yeah, after all russians don't have second most paranoid secret service in the world.they would neever notice a guy with a rifle near kreml

They won't. Heck, if you can get a buddy, at the next military parade review you can do it too. You know Russian dictators....they love their parades...

great way of making a marter ;) as putin once said to die a marter is as honourable as to die a hereo of a nation, both create mindless following and inmortality.

Indeed. I'm keeping an eye on Chavez these days (but then, I am a sucker for underdogs).

I'm afraid Chavez might not be long for this world...and the US won't have to lift a finger to get rid of him..

Mr. Evil, hundreds of martyrs are made a day....what's one extra?

Big Oil? :)

I fear you are right. I also fear he may be a little 'too' socialist, if you see what I mean. However, he does seem to have nine lives.

More like his own people, Matt. Having your economy go down the crapper in a hurry hurts..

Additionally, you have to deal with the neighboring countries. Thier economies are being effected too...

South American War anyone?

there are more people who wish to assasinate the US president than most other leaders, and a larg portion of them are probably americans. !!!!!

mind you hes not inspirational or inteligent so he wouldnt be missed and probably a huge boost for america in some states, but it would be interesting to see who steped into his shoes !

we had thatcher, we hated her but we loved her hard line talking, always wondered how different the gulf war would have been with thatcher instead of john major in the seat.

and imagin the gulf war if paddy ashdown was in power (Damn fixed elections), ex royal marine, met him a few times hes a realy nice bloke as well.

On the topic of Presidential Assassinations:
And that'd be Cheney, Evil....followed by the various Secretaries (of State, Defense, and so on), then it goes to the Majority leader of the Senate.

Then again, I know of at least one country that wouldn't mind seeing Putin pushing up flowers...

I kinda think you''re view might be a little skewed by the news you're end though.... I watch Fox and ABC from time to time and the Chavez stories are all completly out of sinc with anyone elses
The last coup over there (Which followed the eeary pattern of south american coups that tend to result in a right wing pro US dictator...) was as I say a complete shambles. Its only really the private TV stations that have a problem with him, he's massivly popular over there with the working classes, and got a massive proportian of the vote yet again durring the last election. And a country with that much oil is never really gonna poor is it?

===> I gotta say, I dont think Bush is that bad really, at least he's up front (Or at the very least so crap at hiding his true intentions as to be up front) about his agenda, what do you expect when you elect a Bush :D

I'm afraid Max, that nationalizing his industries are putting his economy into a hole. And oil is only as good as long as you have people willing to buy it. Note the crowd he's been courting as of late. Heck, South America's biggest Telecom company is in his country, and that's nationalization is effecting the countries around him. Not really the best way to win people over to your side, Max. Sooner or later (and honestly, you think "National" elections are a mark of someone being well liked? Look at a little country North of South Korea...he wins the majority vote all the time) someone's or someones are going to decide they've had enough. Thankfully, like a good number of Dictatorships, it's a cult of personality and will most likely collapse under its own weight when he's gone.
