Best forum for Classic Traveller?

I tried sfrpg but it rejected every one of my email addresses when trying to register.

If anybody has trouble getting their email address past the anti-spam high security settings just pm me your email & we'll sort it out (I hope). I think our forum AI has a shoot on sight policy on gmail type accounts, and sometimes there is just no reasoning with it.

I didn't experience this myself. The MGT announcement got me interested in Traveller lore and I joined CotI since it seemed to be "The Traveller" forum at the time. One of the members even mailed me their extra copy of the CT Classic Adventures reprint for free, even though I offered to pay.
I found the Mods and other posters very helpful and knowledgeable when posting about CT or Traveller in general. It was the aggressive negativity against MGT that drove me away for awhile.
I've recently gone back as a lurker and it seems to be better moderated now and the anti-MGT posts won't be tolerated.
Anyways, I would definitely recommend CotI for anyone interested in Traveller in general and especially CT.

CotI for CT is good place if you like seeing what others have done with CT and their worlds/games of CT.
CotI is also good for making some contact with CT fans. And no matter where you go you will run into some that don't think well of CT (or insert some other version of Traveller.) Just steer clear of them or their posts, and things will be just fine.
SFRPG forum is good for general discussions of about any topic. Traveller is the strongest of the SciFi RPG's only because a high number of the current members similar interest in that game (Traveller).
In the past there were a few other sites but most are no longer active.

It always comes down to the blatant bias of a few members on each board that post inciteful stuff that allows the trolls on the other board to feed. Trolls feed on each other, break the cycle and perhaps both varieties will starve.
To answer the original posters question, CotI in my opinion is the best place to go for CT discussion, just as the MGT forum is the best place for MGT discussion.
I have thought about giving CoTI another try, especially since I heard it is now under new management, and Marc Miller apparently is more hands on with it. When I was an active member over 5 years ago I quit going because I couldn't stand the "official" and "by the book" only attitude so many had. Like I posted in the Power Armor thread, once I bought those rule books it became MY RPG, the only thing "official" is what I decide is official, not Marc Miller or anyone else.
So if that attitude can be accepted over there I would stick around.
If they are still dominated by the kind of people who will bring a game to a stand still because a planet does not have the right number of moons as specified by a source book that the GM does not even own, then I won't.

When I've seen stuff like this (not just on CotI) often it's simply a communication breakdown. The asker isn't clear they mean ATU (but may feel they are) or the answerer isn't clear in getting that it's meant to be ATU. Or the answer is not meant to be a declaration of superiority but it's taken as such. And then of course there's often the OTU answer to the question for the sake of completeness and common ground starting points to build on. Rarely have I seen a case of the asker clearly requesting ATU input and being told "if it's not OTU it's a waste of time" as a 'helpful' reply.
In any case, CotI has active moderators and simple easy report buttons on every post. If someone gives you grief just click and comment to report it, it'll be looked at pdq. And in the meantime there is also an easy simple Ignore function so you never have to see a single post from anyone who just annoys you. Try not to stress over the problem posters. For every reply you see (good or bad) I'll bet there are 10 readers who are quietly reading and saving the golden nuggets you post.
