Be on the lookout for space elves

So I'm thinking Campaign here.

We have one of grandfathers children hidden way in his secret fortress in a dark nebula. For security he had the command codes to his fortress bonded to the molecules of an item of jewellery he never removed.

He decided that Grandfathers work was all wrong and determined to start again by wiping out all life in the Galaxy and starting again.

His first effort was defeated by an alliance led by the Darrians which defeated him and drove him back to his fortress. In the surprise attack by the Darrians he was caught with his forces and wounded, in the process he lost the jewellery with the command codes.

In revenge as he fled he turned his sun crusher on the Darrians Stars and devastated the Darrian worlds.

Now many years latter a small group of scoundrels hanging round the starport down town have by wild chance come across a strange item of jewellery. The emanations of this item bring a wandering wise and elderly psion to find them and once he comes to understand what it is the psion calls allies to join them in an attempt to reach the dark nebula and use the command codes to destroy the Ancients base before his plan to wipe out all life takes place.

The ancient has many agents through known space and calls for his legions of Super warriors to be set lose. Created from the DNA captured from Darrians these warriors are savage and mighty foes and armed with weapons and ships more advanced than even the Darrian relics can match, no one can stand against them.

The races of the galaxy come together to fight against this threat and keep the ancients eye focused on them. Vargr raiders strike fast across the open sectors raiding the Ancients supply lines. Aslan Warriors hold firm in a historic citadel at the borders of their empire blocking the advance of the ancients and aided by the Darrians who arrive in great strength to support them.
Humaniti brings its forces together at a great fortress world.

All the while a small brave band of heroes in a tiny 400Dton Jump 3 Armed courier sneak across known space and behind the lines of the fighting to be stopped at the dark nebula where the Ancients reserve armies wait.

The forces of Humanti, rescued from the siege of the fortress world by the Vargr fleets and joined by Aslan and Darrian forces strike against the dark nebula distracting the Ancients remaining armies and fleets, allowing the heroes one last chance to win the day.

Hmmm ... you could have the nine most powerful servants of the Ancient
first ride on black K'kree and then on genetically enhanced black Droyne,
but how do you get the Hivers into this ... ? :?

Aslani as Rohan. I would never thought of that.

Of course there the Zhodani and Solomani. One or both powers would be the bands of men that ally with the evil Ancient.

That has the ring of a good story to it. Perhaps the 'jewelry' looks something like this:

Zhodani = Easterlings, that whole dark image just says Zhodani.
Solomani = Corsairs, wild reavers crushing all who come near (pre solomani party or as splinter group)

Edit. Sword Worlders as the Corsairs would be better.

Let us not forget the mad, regent steward that does not recognize the rightful heir to the Imperial Throne.

(Cue in a civil war instigated by the Ancient.)

The content yes. The actual printed book not I.

Excuse me as I wipe the envious drool from my keyboard.

Ever since S&P had the coverart adverts I've been impatient like a kid waiting for Christmas.
