So this is the redux...

Something urged me to act upon all the the ponderings I had been pondering over the last few months. The release of BSG:Razor with Adama's flashbacks made me realize that I could include all the old style Cylon ships in the games and expand the rules to cover the first Cylon war as well.

I wanted to include a few ideas from Victory at Sea, specifically the "roll to hit". I have also taken the oppertunity to reduce the size of the ships. I believe before I aimed to big and as a result the designs became unwieldy and hard to balance. I also took the oppertunity to remove the fiddly rules regarding Nukes and the Raider waves idea has also been dropped.

So far I have the entire Colonial fleet statted up as well as the basic game rules.

I am still working on the Cylons stats although be warned their fleet list will not be as big as the Colonial one.

If you want to see what each ship looks like just take a look at eth Ravenstar website.

ALL feeback and comments will be appreciated and pondered and then quite possible acted upon. Please report anything that looks out of place with the ship stats... I know there is plenty to address there balance wise.

[EDIT] I am already aware that 2 of the modifiers on page 4 are the wrong way around...
 
Good work 8) Court Jester i love the effort you have put in to this project and I hope to even try them out and see the 2nd part of the rules for the cyclons.
 
Yeah, as soon as you finish I am going to to try and get my friends at my local game store (those who play ACTA) to try out this game!
 
Im assuming none of this is copywright infringement and that this is all one with the blessings of SCI-FI channel of course. And as soon as you say so then I will download.
 
None whatsoever. I'm giving it all away for free and not claiming any copyright on anything I didn't create myself.

you do realise that by using thier title "Battlestar Galactica" and thier Images and anything to do with BSG Its copyright infringement. Just trying to look out for you.
 
i beleive that court jester hasnt and wont infringe any copyright laws based on the fact that,
  • 1 - He's not passing the images off as his own
    2- he's not passing the setting or universe off as his own
    3 - he has acknolodged where BSG comes from.

but if your still worried i'm sure CJ wont mind putting in a non-copyright violation all associated parts blar blar blar rext on his document for you.
 
I'm pretty sure this sort of stuff does fall under 'fair use' policy, unless they were planning on building their own BSG tabletop strategy game.
 
looks great you have really put a lot of work in to this i think there may be a mistake in the to hit chart the last two numbers look the wrong way round

Not to nitpick, but I think I found a couple of typos:

on p. 4/14:

It is written as:

Target is at Close Range
Within 10” -1
Target is moving Fast
Moved over 72 this turn +1

Shouldn't close range be + 1 and fast be -1?

Additionally, what is meant by 72? should it be 7"?

on p. 7/14

under Fire control: It reads as if you can only redirect dice from one weapon systme that is firing at a target to another that is fireing at a target. Does this mean that you cannot take dice form unengaged weapon arcs and apply them to engaged weapon arcs? And under this reading, you can take AD from an engaged port arc and apply it to an engaged Starboard Arc, but not take it form an unegaged forward Arc to put it with either fot eh 2 engaged arcs?

I did point out in my first post that I knew they were wrong... :wink: Your assumptions aboy the actual modifiers are right.

The initial ideas was exactly that. It was a way to allow players to juggle firepower but I wanted them to think about it instead of just using the redundant arc. But I have been considering just removing the condition and allowing any swap. Or allowing the 2AD to be given to any weapon system above or below the chosen system on the ship roster. Or something else.
 
the original post for this was far too long too go through so i'll ask here, cani buy the ships from anywhere?
