Barbarella for Traveller

Naw. Just kidding.

A dark sci fi would be nice. Something like Event Horizon would be very cool as a one shot sort of setting. (Aliens, of course, would be a cool one, but the license for that one is probably quite ridiculous.)

But how about a cyberpunk setting of some sort? Maybe based on Gibson's work or Shatner/Goulet's Tek series? Or an anime property like Ghost in the Shell?

An updated Robots sourcebook would be awesome. With robot construction, PCs, and examples and stats for various robots. And mecha. We need giant battling robots. They make 0 sense, but they sure do look cool.

A Crazy-Level Tech sourcebook would be cool too. Something that played around with transgenetics, artificial intelligence, DNA computers, quantum entanglements, eugenics/cloning, and nanotechnology.

Dang, you got me in this thread expecting a discussion on rules for the Porno Patrol career. So I'm gonna see your request for MRQ Conan and say "feh--I'd rather it was Traveller!" Besides, what better way to flesh out all those TL 0-4 worlds than with a rich dose of Howard from MGT Conan? :)

Not necessary, Rebellion is now developing a new videogame based on AvP so a RPG license might not be that far fetched.

That would be pretty cool. Still, video game companies probably have a lot more capital than RPG companies. I'm just guessing.

My dream license for Traveller would be, of course, Star Trek.

Damn. I want a Barbarella rpg!

Nothing official, but Adamant Entertainment are working on 'Final Frontier: The Unauthorized Sourcebook to the World's Most Popular SF TV Franchise', for use with Mongoose's Traveller rules.

I'd rather see something new, as there are been many Star Trek games over the years, the major ones being from Decipher and FASA. The FASA line was pretty complete, with loads of supplements:

Same for Aliens RPG. Leading Edge did it some years ago, though their game system sucked, being far too much complicated and simulationist.

The Colonial Marines Technical Manual was a must have, whatever the system used:

In the meantime, Aliens fans can sink their teeth into a fan made version:

BTW, Barbarella is far more sexy than Mr Spock...

we she was quite sexy in that so may work - I had heard that the divine Ms Beckinsale may be involved but perhaps too good to be true :D

Yeah, I doubt it, shes mentioned not doing anymore Action/Adventure roles,

But Drew Barrymore was up for the role in the early days, so who knows

I don't know if they'd be able to translate the psychedelic mood in a modern movie. Most modern sci fi remakes suck anyway (The Day Earth stood Still, Planet of the Apes, Godzilla, Rollerball and more...).

I liked the newer Godzilla,
But you are right about messing with The Day Earth stood Still, its a classic, and unless you can bring something better you should never mess with a classic,
