ST should not mess with time unless Doctor Who is guiding them! Or at least some Dr. Who writters. ST has always messed up with almost all of the time arcs.

I think they did ok in ST IV, just the fact that the entire movie was ruibbish, but that wasn't the fault of the time travelplot device as far as I could tell.
