B5 land war game FOW

ok a while back there was talk of a land based version of B5 with tanks and flyers.

the game has fallen by the wayside

Mongoose have the minis

battle front and mongoose are on friendly terms.

solution

do a B5 book with army lists that use the Flames of war rules.

simple

mongoose attract Fow players, Fow attract scfi players, mongoose sell minis, army books and expand there fan base, battle front sell rule books, and expand there fan base

Or alternatively just republish the GROPOS rules, properly errata'd if rules production is the issue.

Please finish the game. That way You can actually have a realistic campaign to take the universe back, when you combine ACTA

That's a great Idea. The original GROPOS system blows I'm afraid. Sorry to anyone who was a fan but although it had a fair few great concepts the actual game was for want of a better phrase wazz!

FOW however is a fantastically simple idea. I still have the GROPOS rules somewhere and I think a tentative list based on the stats from that book would be easy to convert. Anyone fancy doing a conversion in the meantime?



I must admit when I saw the preview for WWE I was not very enamoured by the infantry on round bases and even commented to my regular ACTA opponant that I was gonna base my figs on FOW flat bases as they are far better.

I'd love to see the B5 ground combat game go ahead. It was very tank focused at first and work needed doing on the infantry, plus there were no Centauri!

I'm hoping that after ACTA 2nd ed is done we may get to revisit it, fingers crossed!

it would be nice, after I saw it at one of the open days, I bought narn gropos bit from ebay ready for the game!

I think the fOW rules idea is an excellent thought.
Since Mongoose don't seem to have the time currently , its possibly the best alternative.

it would be great if you could combine it with ACTA, campaigns would be excellent, and you could use some of the ships for planetary bombardment.
