Asmulia

Well, I'm quite new to DW.
And I never heard of Lands of Legend before.

Usually I settled my adventures and campaigns in my own world. I am italian, and my world is greatly inspired by italian landscape, traditions, legends, superstitions, folklore and so on.

Now I see there is a land in the Lands of Legend, Asmulia, that could be quite similar to Italy. Do you know if there are more infos about Asmulia besides the ones I found in the DW corebook? A detailed map, perhaps?

I am seriously thinking to set my next campaing in Asmulia instead to use my old world setting. But I'm not yet sure 'bout it, I need to know more about the Lands of Legend and on Asmulia itself to check if it fits with my needs and with my imagination.

Thanks for help!

There isn't much official game information about Asmulia yet: it's one of many areas of the world that we've left for GMs to develop on their own. Nobody has ever proposed an Asmulia sourcebook to me, though if somebody did I'd be very interested to read their ideas--it's an area with a lot of potential for rich background and original adventures. So if you have any ideas in that direction...?

We do know that the first year's releases for the game have focused heavily on Ellesland, and we'll be moving away from that in future to explore the rest of the world.

Very interesting. I'll see what I can do about that. My world setting is a late medieval Italy with fairy elements. Not really "low-fantasy" but surely "dark fantasy". If you read "Pinocchio", for example, (the original novel by Collodi, not the sugarly Disney's version) you can understand what I mean: a grim fairy world.
In Italy we got a mix of superstition and strong religious feelings that could fit well with the True Faith and DW's magic stuff.
For example: in the wood surely live an ogre that eat children; some fairy animals can speak and tricks people (expecially wolves and foxes); ghosts are almost everywhere; people is very scared and afraid of devil's possession; witchcraft (sorcery?) is very well spreaded and there are a lot of sects where people mixes religion and sorcery -as well as witches' covens.
I am from Rome, and I am used to draw my own maps using the central Italy as main reference (woods, mountains and lakes).

I'll see what I can elabourate about it. , I will be happy to submit you some ideas or maps about Asmulia.

I think Selentine is the most similar land with Italy ! Because of the Selentine 's church, the old Sélentium empire...

Why do you think to Asmulia?

So Niki your Italian dark fantasy seems very interesting ! And very interesting in Selentine !
