Arms & Equipment Question

So A&E will contain new game mechanics for handling gun fire? I don't own the MRQ2 core book yet. So, I'm not sure what it contains in regards to gun use. Unlike hand-to-hand combat, it's possible to simultaneously move and attack (i.e. fire a gun) at the same time. Do the new rules take this into account? Will there be rules for automatic weapon fire or explosives?

Don't get too carried away :) ... these aren't rules for modern weapons, but hand-loaded black-powder weapons (try running and firing a musket... or an arquebus).

So, no. No rules for automatic fire of explosives.

That's just as well. I would find myself comparing any rules for modern gun use to the Aces & Eights gun mechanics. I agree. You cannot really fire a black powder gun and move at the same time the way you can with modern handguns. I probably should have specified that you can run and shoot a modern revolver at the same time, but you probably guessed that that's what I meant.
IMO the Aces & Eights system is perfect for simulating modern gun fights, but would not fit very well in the RuneQuest worlds of sword fighting and magic.

I'm guessing that A&E has rules for layering armour? The issue of leather vambraces over linen has already come up in game.

That is covered in the default rules. Only the highest armor counts for AP, the other is ignored (and I can't remember if the armor penalty stacks, or is just the worst of the two).

Coudn't find that anywhere?

But even so that isn't particularily representative of reality. For instance if you put plate over leather the combined protection is better than either of them alone. Heavier and less mobile granted, but definitely offers more protection.
