Armour Question

Hey,

My players and I have a question. Why is it that you can stack armour, but only the higher AP take effect?

Would it not be possible to wear a soft leather under most other armour and gain the additional AP from it.

Please ellaborate?

I believe the armor descriptions state that applicable armors (chain and plate for example) are considered to have the appropriate padding as part of the overall package.

Mostly though I think it is a blanket rule to prevent abuse by trying to layer armor to get ridiculously high armor points.

(That is what protection magic is for!)

Thanks, I believe the latter is more like it, cause just like D20, some of my players are POWER PLAYERS...

You could just play with the Armor Penalties as published and say that if Armor Points stack so do the penalties. That should put an end to stacking.

I think really the rules are the way they are so you can wear a chain hauberk over a soft leather shirt for example. You don't get to stack the armor points, but also don't stack the penalty.
