Armies of the Fifth Frontier War errata

Perkanis83

Banded Mongoose
Thought I should start this here

Found two things so far
1, Zhodani field protection suits Page 60 have no protection value, I assume this is a oversight
2, The "tinker" missile system on page 55 is stated to have multiple tubes available but it has no magazine capacity, once again I assume this is a oversight.
3, the compact Gaus pistol on page 49 have a linger range then the normal size one,

Found a bunch of things lacking and unappealing, mostly with the sword world’s equipment. Now I should preface this that i understand the cultural impact on thier equipment, however, I don’t think that is enough of an excuse due to how harshly this impact their stuff In play, they shouldn’t be so inflexible that they are ineffective entirely so.

P53-54, Their rifles are ineffective against imperial targets, if they are to remain semi automatic with them they should be heavy rifles as they are described as in their info section, or have some trick beyond a simple AP 3 from ammo. So I’d suggest some inspiration form their sniper rifle to give their essential small arms that little extra oomf. Additionally there’s not much info on what their support weapon is, I assume it’s a machine gun, but, I don’t know how deep this cultural influence goes either way, I believe the space taken up on the weapon table is wasted listing 2 weapons which are largely identical besides range, the rifle and the carbine respectively.

P60, Sword worlds armour the jaeger armour specifically, another item lacking distinction especially since its is practically an over priced TL10 Cloth in its current form, I suggest making it distinct by incorporating some extra armour, bringing it to 10 armour total and either rad protection or some kind of stealth, no more that 20 rad however, it would essentially be an up armoured combat environment suit.

I think these changes would make them atleast competitive and worthwhile threats.

P56 CCLS weapons lack their usual Auto 2 trait seeded in prior books
P46 Assassin drones lack information on their intended damage values, I suggest adding it to the table of writing in the description what it’s suppose to be comparable to.

Page 134, infantry group matrix shows a command team contains 4 people, CO, NCO, missile binom of two. Test supports this.
Page 135, infantry squadron matrix shows infantry group contain 7 people. The diagram page 136 supports this.
Both can’t be right.
I prefer first as then a detachment is 50 people.
But I don’t get to decide :)

Most of the early drones lack game stats (speed, range, Attack Roll DM based on size, sensors, skills, endurance and so on):
Obscurant Dispenser Drone (page 44)
Decoy/Jammer Drone (page 45)
All the types on page 46. The Assaain Drone does not give damage ratings or range

The DWS-4 'Ripper' has 0.75 for range, I'm guessing this is 750 meters? Same for Zhodani CCLS-Direct Fire Support Weapon should be 800 meters?

Page 66-76 all should km next to their range values? Same comment for page 83, 99, 102, 109, 111, 113, 121, 122, 138, 145, 147, 151, 166

This is perhaps not technically an errata, but an… oddity with the (otherwise beautiful!) artwork.

Compare the Brize on p.83 with the Torana on p.100. They both have near identical turrets for their Ripper guns, except the Torana turret is proportionally a lot bigger than the Brize’s. Odd, since the Torana is three times the tonnage of the Brize.

One might almost think they have each others artwork - except that the Concetta on p.109 shares shape and looks with the Torana pic on p.100.

Shrinking the Torana turret and placing it towards the mid or front (not too close to the Rotella) would also make room for the mortar carried by some Torana variants.

The main fusion gun on the light and main battle tanks also seems likening light have its proportions reversed. Different turret designs though, could explain it.

The range this is within current format of vehicle weapons and certain large heavy weapons.
