Aren't new PDFs issued instead of errata?

I buy nothing but the PDFs and I see there is a pdf of the errata

why aren't the changes made to the original pdfs and made available where we bought them as an update? Isn't that the point of buying pdfs in the first place? At least it is for me.

Has this been done or not.

Could you be a little more specific. I know I've received updated items from where I bought them.

Indeed, we update the original PDFs - if we have by any chance missed one, please let us know!

Have you tried High Guard on DriveThruRPG? The last update was back in late 2013. It does not have a number of things in the errata (I picked things at random and they didn't match).

I would argue that there other things that need fixing (beyond what is mentioned in the errata), like the lack of price, TL, or units per ton for long range and multi-warhead missiles. Lack of damage for ortillery missiles. Lack of ammo capacity for large ortillery railguns (or even explicit mentioning if it uses the same kind of ammo that the smaller version uses). There is no price for any kind of ortillery ammo. The list of new weapons on p. 50 should probably list torpedo weapons instead of heavy missiles (or the mentioning of torpedoes on p. 48 and 49 should be replaced with heavy missiles).

I could try to find more missing details if you were interested.

Yeah, I went back through on drivethrurpg and downloaded the ones that were 'updated'

but then I still find on P91 in the main core rulebook it looks like none of those listed in the erratta is in the pdf.

This is very frustrating because I don't print my pdfs out, I use my ipad.

I don't know why the main rules havent been updated unless I'm just not getting it.

Lets start with the errata
P2. Traveller Core Rulebook (MGP 3800,2008)
Page 2,left column, third paragraph - that has not been changed, mine still says mankind
Page 6, Background Skills, Homeworld Skills (ommission) - mine is still in ommission. it does not include those other sets.

etc, on down the line.

If you didn't originally get it through Drivethru, you can't get the update (I got the majority of mine through the Bits and Mortar program after buying the hard copy from my local hobby store). And the Bits and Mortar ones haven't (apparently) been updated once they were initially uploaded.

Ask Matt Sprange. I got my 2300AD hard copy from Travelling Man, Newcastle and the PDF from Bits and Mortar. After the revision, Matt made an updated PDF available to me.

All books mentioned here should be updated - if you re-download them, you will have the latest files.

Again, if you notice any oddities, let me know and we'll take care of it!

Matt,

I'm not sure of the "official" nature of the errata posted at: http://dmckinne.winterwar.org/pdfs/ConsolidatedTravellerErrata.pdf by Don McKinney.

If the errata is indeed official, the latest version is dated August 3rd 2014.

Looking at my library page on DriveThruRPG.com the entry for Supplement 4: Central Supply Catalogue was last updated April 24th 2013.

Looking thru my downloaded copy, the errata have not been included.

Is Don's errata official? Can we expect to see reissued versions of the books included in the errata?

Ta

:)

I don't see how Don's errata could be official, since some of it is obviously speculation on his part rather than "corrections", like this one:
Page 111, Armaments, Turret Weapons, Pulse and Beam Lasers (clarification): There seems to be a design mismatch between
pulse and beam lasers and how they work against missiles. It’s almost impossible to actually stop a missile with a pulse laser, due to
penalties for short range and the errata penalty above. Is this by design? If it is, recommend removing the errata above trying to make
pulse and beam lasers work as they did in CT, as it does not fit Mongoose’s starship combat system.

You make a fair point and I don't know if Matt's lack of reply (so far) means anything more than he's a busy person and hasn't seen the thread development or if there's a conflict as Don's the point man for the official FFE/Traveller errata and is wading in on Mongoose territory, welcome or otherwise.

I've implemented Don's errata for the CSC as I liked what I saw. It took me longer to edit my PDF than I'd like to spend doing the rest and would prefer not to have to.

That was a long time ago... Matt opted to go in a different direction, and I was supposed to remove that proof of concept document... And now it's removed... I had completely forgotten I had that up (I'm breaking in a new laptop, and updating my personal pages is so... next week). At the time I was thinking I might go faster than new PDFs.
