Sure they have an 8ad fighter that is -1 in a dogfight. if you have your fighters on close support duty they will intercept that Sky Serpent before he can fire.

Can't you escort it so the escorts dogfight together and your Sky Serpent is free to fire ?

Yes you can, but then you can also send more than 1 fighter against the Sky Serpent as well.

ug...I hated the Claw Eagle...roll the bad accent and get me the green skin paint...orks it is...

I bad rip off of a b-level tv show...buck rogers feather headed side kick with the cliche bird of prey.

oh well...hopefully agile (or whatever help they are getting) will still let me respect the fleet.

On escorting the Sky Serpents, this does work to a degree, the problem is you don't get many superiority fighters for free (two on the Stormfalcon, three on the Nightfalcon I think) so you usually have more Sky Serpents than Star Snakes because you cannot afford to lose even one initiative sink.

Add in the low dodge and speed of the Sky Serpent and it often is killed with secondary weapons bypassing your escort. (hull 5 but only a 4+ dodge means throwing a couple three dice at each will usually net a kill a for every two you target...roll up and you clear the sky)

Now when I have mixed Milani's in with my Strikehawks they form a scary front, but the battle is usually almost over by the time they get to the fight.
