Just got my copt through today, looks good.

Since i have no ww1 ship models, only ww2 which manufacturer should i go for in 1:3000

Navwar or skytrex, are there differences in the size/scale, eg is the navwar baden larger/smaller than Skytrex

Which are the best models ?

Cheers Pete

Navwar and Skytrex are essentially identical. Their models vary in detail occasionally, but both are of much the same quality.

I shop with Navwar because I like the guy, I've been to his store and have shopped from him for many years.
I occasionally buy from skytrex as they deal in online orders, and Navwar don't.

As for me, I've a few 1/3000 ships for WW1, but much prefer to do it in 1/6000. Makes it more practical to have the vast numbers of destroyers on the table for one thing.

My 1/3000 collection is also a mix of Navwar and Skytrex. NAvwar do some interesting and unusual ships that Skytrex don't (e.g. AMCs and aviation capable vessels), whilst the detail on some of the Skytrex ships (e.g. some of the British armoured cruisers) is finer than the Navwar equivalents. However, they are all decent models and they mix well.

If I was starting now I may be tempted to go for 1/6000. I was on the verge of flogging my 1/3000 stuff and moving to the smaller scale a few years back. Unfortunately Hallmark sold the range to the US and the prices hiked so that killed off that plan.

My ww2 fleets are 1:6000 now , i get them from magister for about a £5 for 5 BBs etc

Thought i would try navwar for ww1 , will see

Dave I pmed you a question about the aircraft if you get 2 secs to have a look

Cheers

Got mine too.

So, I assume the Austro-Hungarians and other Med fleets will make an appearance in a future S&P?

Thats the plan, once I've got them done. I'm a bit busy with some "real world" issues at the moment, but I have some long flights coming up and sorting out the stats may be agood thing to keep me occupied once I've watched all the decent in-flight movies :)

That's what I love about the British: they have DECENT in-flight movies!

I went for 1/6000 for my north sea stuff. The fact that you have 40 odd destroyers escorting each fleet looks so much more impressive on the table.

My med/adriatic stuff is all in 1/3000 though, and I've no plans to sell them all off anytime soon in return for Hallmark stuff.
