Anyone have a summary of the differences between 2ed and Rev

Hey all,

I bought revised edition a while back but have only played it a few times, I'm curious if anyone did a breakdown of the big differences between it and the new edition anywhere (or would be willing to give me a summary here)?

I liked revised edition a fair bit, although I mostly play GW's Battle Fleet Gothic with my buddies, so we never really broke out inot A Call to Arms out of complacency. So since I don't need to worry about compatibility with tournies or the like its only for my own enjoyment that I would need to upgrade to 2ed.

So can anyone let me know if why (or if) I should grab the newer rules, and what I should expect to see act differently?

Thanks Greg!

Thats exactly what I was looking for.

Anyone have any opinions regarding 2nd vs rev editions I should hear as well?

My opinions are slightly biased, since I'm a playtester.

Good stuff:

It solves the majority of balance issues.

There are cool new ships for many of the fleets.

Many of the rules are clarified.

It solves the nasty weapon crit taking out a ship's entire guns.

Crits are easier to repair.

The Centauri are closer to the way their ships were in the show.

The new anti-fighter trait is good.

On the downside the Gaim are a little too good.

Space stations don't get the coverage they deserve.

FAP breakdowns reward selecting swarm fleets too much.
