Any Word on a new World Builders Handbook?

It has been a while and this is the one book I am really looking forward to.

CT Book 6 (scouts) needs a modern update ala Mongoose and I was hoping to hear that it has been planned or even started by now.

Has anyone heard anything? (Any Hints Matt?)

Other then they are supposed to do one I haven't heard anything further about it.

Lots of books they are supposed to do but no news :( Campaign guide(tms) is what I'm looking forward though world builder wouldn't be bad either.

A well done World Builders guide would be at the top of my book purchase list...

Yup, copy to read/game with, copy for backup in case the first gets destroyed, pdf copy to print those sections that are needed to have on hand........

A proper WBH would be gold.

I would have to agree.

Even better? A WBH with some software to run the numbers and a map making program included.

But thats probably just dreaming.

Come on, what's so wrong with the Star Wars mono-climate model?

(Ducks incoming fire)

Seriously, I have to concur. A WBH would be invaluable - especially if it had examples of how to flesh out a basic UWP...

A good solid WORLD BUILDER'S HANDBOOK in the 180 to 200 page range with a good amount of world fleshing out (to speak of) would lock MGT into what could be the best Traveller Edition ever. As good world building is extremly important in any traveller campaign. I would buy at least one hardcopy and get a pdf to boot.

I have to agree. Something like that could quickly become my favorite book.

After all, my current favorite book (and most used book) is DGP's original version. I have four copies of the thing (one I use, two for back-ups, and one in storage) just to make sure I never lose it.

It is THE most important book in my RPG arsenal. Bar none.

Maybe if enough of us post, the Goose will be moved?

I'd love to see a good world builder's handbook that went hand in hand with a good reference on world building like the Writer's Digest Sci-Fi Writer's World Building book.

Hi guys,

We are indeed planning this book, but we also want to make sure it is done right - right now, we have not even selected the author we want to use!

Still, its good to know that it is in the pipeline.

Thanks Matt.

Well, I nominate EDG (aka. 'Evil Dr. Ganymede', or 'Ganymede') - it's the only way he'll be satisfied it's scientifically accurate enough, and TBH I defer to his superior intellect in this matter ! :)

I would strongly suggest that from a mktg point of view, you survey this one out, thoroughly...

I agree, with the caveat that whomever does write this take a good look at the original GDW one too.

Oh, and do mind to put in something for settlement patterns and city development.
